A brake controller isn't a vehicle specific item, so you can use just about any brake controller you wish. There are two types of controllers, time delayed or proportional. A time delayed controller will always send the same amount of voltage to the trailer brakes (depending on how the controller's been set) whether you're tapping on the pedal or braking very hard. A proportional controller can sense how quickly the tow vehicle is stopping, and will send the proper amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so both the vehicle and trailer stop at the same rate. The proportional controller will provide safer, more predictable braking, which is why I recommend them.
The second feature I look for in a controller is a full digital display that will either plainly spell out any problems with the braking system like the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195 or display an error code that can be looked up in the owner's manual like the Primus, part # TK90160. The Tekonsha Voyager controller you referred to, part # 39510 works great but it isn't very user friendly, featuring only an LED to alert you to any potential problems. It would also need to me manually leveled using a lever on the side.
If the price of the controller is your primary consideration, something like the Curt Triflex, part # C24VV that automatically levels and features a full LED display would be a better choice.
If your Ram has the factory 7-way at the rear of the truck, you'd use the # 3020-P brake controller wiring adapter that would allow you to plug in the controller to the connector under the dash. If you don't have the factory 7-way, you'd need to hardwire the controller using the # ETBC7 brake controller install kit. The adapter included with the kit would plug into an existing 4-pole. If you don't have an existing 4-pole, you can install one using part # 118381, or simply cut the 4-pole off the adapter and wire directly into the turn signal and running light circuits.
