Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for 2013 Toyota Corolla With Spoiler

Im looking to purchase a rear bike rack for my 2013 toyota corolla s with a rear spoiler. Could you send me which ones with fit my car with the most protection from damaging my car. It would be for 1 or 2 bikes. Thank you so much

For a trunk mount bike rack on your 2013 Toyota Corolla I recommend the Hollywood Racks Over The Top Bike Rack # HRF2. The bike rack was designed to work with vehicles such as yours that have a spoiler.

If the spoiler is metal then it can usually handle the weight of a typical trunk mount bike rack. However, if your spoiler is plastic there is no way it can handle the pressure of the carrier and bikes. This is why the Hollywood Racks Over The Top rack is so popular.

For the security of your rack and bikes when they are unattended, I recommend the Thule Passive Security Strap # TH533 which is secured in your locked rear hatch to use with the MasterLock Combination cable Lock # 8122D to secure your bikes to the carrier.

This bike rack will hold 2 bikes, up to 35 lbs each. If you are planning on carrying either women's, children's or alternative frame bikes I recommend the Hollywood Racks Bike Adapter # HRBA-PRO. This adapter will level out the bike and provide better ground clearance at the wheels.

Keeping all of the contact points between the rack and vehicle perfectly clean and free of grit will go a long way toward preventing scratches, however the only way to guarantee that nothing will ever get scratched would be to use a receiver hitch mounted bike rack. Using a hitch mounted rack would prevent the rack from coming into contact with the vehicle paint. The hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite hitch, part # 24913 . With this hitch you can use a hanging rack or a platform rack which will not come into contact with your vehicle. My recommendation is the Swagman XTC-2 bike rack, # S64670. I have included a video of this rack being installed on your vehicle that you can check out. This rack would secure each bike at three points, and many find it easier to use that bike racks where the frame hangs from the cradles.

Swagman also offers a locking anti-rattle hitch pin, # S64029, that I would recommend.
