Reasonably Priced Roof Rack Recommendation for 2014 Honda CR-V

Question:

HELLO, I HAVE 2014 HONDA CRV. I AM LOOKING TO INSTALL ROOF CROSS BARS IN ORDER TO PUT SEARS SPORT-20SV CARGO BOX. NOTE THAT I DO NOT HAVE FACTORY RAILS. MY QUESTION IS DO I NEED TO INSTALL ROOF RAILS OR YOU HAVE CROSS BARS THAT CAN BE INSTALLED WITHOUT RAILS SAVING ME $? I CHECKED YOUR WEBSITE AND IT SEEMS THAT THERE ARE OPTIONS TO INSTALL CROSS BARS WITHOUT ROOF RAILS BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT PRODUCT/BRAND WOULD BE THE BEST FOR MY VEHICLE. NOTE THAT SEARS SPORT-20 SV IS PRETTY LARGE CARGO BOX SO I WOULD LIKELY NEED CROSS BARS THAT WOULD BEST SUPPORT THAT BOX/WEIGHT. THANK YOU

Your least expensive (but still high quality) option would be the Rhino Rack roof rack system that uses an Vortex Aero crossbars # RRVA137B-2, the roof rack feet part # RRRLKVA, and the custom fit clamp kit part # DK284. These crossbars will cause less wind noise, but they are 3-1/8 inches wide by 1-3/16 inches tall. You'll need to measure the mounts on your cargo box to see if it would be compatible with the Vortex bars.

The roof rack itself has a 165 lb weight capacity, but you might be limited by the weight capacity of your CR-Vs roof if it's less than 165 lbs. Your owner's manual or Honda should be able to tell you what the roof capacity is.
