Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima round cross bars for Yakima Roof Rack Systems. These are multi-purpose cross bars that supply the backbone for your aftermarket roof rack system. You'll notice that they're a round design, that's going to fit all Yakima towers. Towers are sold separately, and they are available at etrailer.com. These bars provide stability to your roof-mounted racks, which allows you to carry the accessories that secure your gear. This roof rack system or these bars are going to be great for bike racks, water sport carriers, roof baskets and boxes and much more. These will accept accessories that clamp or strap around the bars.
You'll notice that the unit is constructed of a vinyl-coated galvanized steel, so these bars are very strong and durable, as well as rust and corrosion resistant and that vinyl coating is going to provide slip-resistance for your gear and it's going to keep the bars protected for an increased lifespan. Two bars are included. The bars are going to measure 1 & 1/8 of an inch in diameter with a steel wall thickness of .085 inches. At etrailer.com, we do offer these bars in a variety of lengths to best fit your particular application. They are available in 48 inch, 58 inch, 66 inch, 78 inch, and 86 inch lengths. They're covered with a lifetime warranty.

I have used Yakima products for decads, after two decades I got a new vehicle and I needed a wider set of bars. After two decades the products are still relatively easy to install, and fit tight and secure to my vehicle. Do take care to pay attention to the installation instructions and follow the recommended measurements very closely and the installation will go smoothly.

The Yakima bars are a simple item. They fit my racks as I expected. Removing the existing bars and installing the longer bars took about 20 - 30 minutes. Using a tape measure to center the bars, and an allen wrench to tighten them in place were the only tools needed. After several times loading and unloading canoes, the covering on the bars is scuffed and gouged, but has held up well to the abuse I give it. They don't flex with loads strapped tightly to them. etrailer had the product in stock. Ordering on-line was quick, simple, and painless. Received the bars without damage and on time. I've ordered several items from etrailer and never had a bad experience.

The crossbars are fine, I've had several different round bars and all good. The shipping from etrailer was poor. Both ends of the box were open and the bars obviously had scraped on something, damaging the coating. A couple pieces of tape would have solved the issue.

After using the rack for several miles, it seems that is holding up to my pop up trailer original tracks with no signs of decay or damage to any of my components, I do check for security after every trip and found no indication of slip or damage, looks like is going to be a good component for years to come.

Excellent- replaced crossbars that were bent and had the plastic covering cracking. This allowed winter road salt to rust the original bars. I hope these hold up better.

I bought longer round bars to extend my Yakima rack outward from the vehicle. Replacement was straightforward. I bought the original system at the same time - q towers and round bars, and was provided with end caps for the bars. The replacement bars came without endcaps, and those on the shorter bars basically crumbled when I tried to remove them for re-use. New end caps would have been nice, or a reminder that purchasers might want to get more.

Ordered the 78" Yakima crossbars with end caps as I frequently going canoeing in groups in the Northeast. The long bars allow for a canoe and cargo (Rocketbox) or two canoes. I could not believe how fast the bars showed up on my doorstep! etrailer had what I wanted at the best price and the customer service was simply a bonus. Def will be back!
