Video Transcript for Titan Chain Tire Chains Rubber Fastener Replacement Review

Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our replacement rubber fasteners for your Titan Chain snow tire chains that have this pull feature here at etrailer. So, this is designed for your Titan Chain snow tire chains that are series 1500 or 2300 tire chains. So, what that means is if you have this type of Titan Chain snow tire chain where you pull it in order to fasten it, this would be the replacement fastener. So, if you lost or damaged you're fastener, these are direct replacements and will be exactly what you need.

If you don't have this exact Titan Chain tire chain, or you're not sure if this will fit your tire chain, a way to find out is that this fastener has a hook that fits the links of certain sizes. So, that link size is going to be .145 inches or 3.7 millimeters thick. So, make sure to use a digital caliper to double check if that is the size of your links or not. So, my personal thoughts about this fastener is I do like how it is a direct replacement, especially if you have this broken with only a single piece, it's nice to know I can just pick up another piece, replace it, and it's not that difficult of a process. Make sure that once you do get it, you are certain about what actually needs replacing on your tire chain.

We have replacement parts for your different links, your different fasteners, so check those all out here at etrailer.com. Also, make sure that you have the right tools for the job. If it's just the fastener, any pliers will work. But if you have your other links that need replacing as well, you can pick up our repair pliers from Titan Chain here at etrailer. All right, so, if this is the right fit for you, let's take a quick look at the install replacement process.

So, I'm gonna show you how to replace these rubber fasteners. So, I'm using gloves right now just because what if you're out in the middle of nowhere, it's snowy, it's cold, you'll definitely want these on as you work. Now, you are gonna have this link at the end, and while you can push the fastener out of that link, I also recommend using some pliers just to give you some extra force. So, what we're gonna do is we're first going to twist our fastener, so that the link is horizontal across of it. And from here, you can either push or pull that off.

What I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna use our pliers just to give myself some extra grip as I push that off the hook. And just like that you have your original fastener removed from that link. So, you're gonna get your replacement fastener and line that right up, and it should fit perfectly in there. Now, just use your pliers to cinch that down or to tighten that hook. So, that should be good right there. You may or may not need to tighten that down all the way because what you're gonna do is just gonna hook it right onto your tire chain. So, since the force is pulling away from that hook, having it tightened down won't make that much of a difference. But if you are worried about it, you can bring it all the way down. And from there, just continue installing your tire chain just like you would do with the original fastener. And that was a look here at our replacement fastener for your Titan Chain diamond alloy pattern snow tire chains here at etrailer..

Bought this piece after the rubber attachment on my old chains broke. Was a great fix instead of buying new chains and trailer had great customer service.

by:

I ‘m happy to say I haven’t had any case where I needed to use these chains. How ever I did put them on to make sure I could and it was not hard to do.

by:

I haven’t used my chains this season but I’m prone to losing things so I feel better about having an extra fastener just in case, . . . Well you know. Stuff happens and I don’t want it to happen in the snow.

Excellent, NO complaints. 100 satisfied

I ordered 2 extras to put in the chain bag with my new chains just in case they wore out or broke in the future. They are well designed and easy to use with the Titan chains. The one end even has little grooves in it to allow for a better grip when attaching to the chains on install. My initial order (submitted at around 10:30 p.m. PST) arrived the day after I ordered it, which was unexpected, but awesome! and the initial order was missing one of these tensioners. The customer service at etrailer.com had the second one sent out and at my door 2 days later with very little effort on my part. Awesome job etrailer.com! Your prompt and courteous customer service will most certainly bring me back for future needs!

I bought these chains as I was going into the snow and was expecting to have to use them. The weather was better than expected and I didn’t have to chain up but they fit great when I tried them on at home. I had a hard time finding chains that would fit as I have all terrain tires. Every other order I got from different vendors would never fit. I contacted the customer service department from etrailer letting them know what I needed and they were a great help. They knew exactly what I would need and it worked perfectly!

by:

First, I would like to say that this is a fine replacement item...seems much better than the original. The mistake I made was that I only ordered one thinking they came in pairs. I also ordered a set of full-wheel chain tensioners, so the shipping I paid wasn't a complete loss. Again, this was my mistake (I looked back on my order and it was clear that it said "1", while the other item said "1 pair"), not etrailer's.

I bought tire chains for the front and back tires on our Class C Motorhome. We are heading for a long trip and I bought them JUST IN CASE. I also bought chains for the car trail we tow. I can't give a review until I actually use them - right. What I can comment on it the Customer Service. These people are always prompt about communication of any kind. Pricing is good. Delivery is fast. What more can you ask for???

by:

Great tensioners. They fit just fine. Having these as spairs saved my snowboarding trip last year.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for, and easy purchase and delivery process. Purchased to replace a broken rubber tensioner for the chains for my Toyota Tacoma.

by:

Just purchased a set of chains and bought a couple of extra of these as spares. These items are a nice easy way to tighten chains. I’m not sure how these will fare over time . Past experience with this type of rubber suggest that these will dry rot over time. Figuring that these will be the first item in the set to fail. Time will tell. I would like to see some type of metal backup available.

by:

Easy to use

by:

Bought two of them to hold in reserve encase either one currently on my TC2327 snow chains failed during use.

by:

These in my opinion are a must they could literally mean the difference between a coast through a fresh layer of powder and ice vs having to buy a whole new rear end because your chains came loose besides there only a couple bucks do your future self a solid and grab some of these they are very tough stretch them as needed and relax a little more knowing your chains aren’t about to whip your truck or car a whole new one

by:

Bought for spare's for chain's I bought from etrailer
Look like they will work to tighten chain's

by:

Exact replacement for a spare

by:

I bought this a year ago and it works like the original and was easy to install. Only thing I would like to see is a little more flexibility

by:

Received as ordered. Won't use until next winter so can't comment on product. Service was excellent, promptly responded to my request for delivery information.

by:

There smaller than the original ones hope they work.

  • Availability of Replacement Parts and Tools for Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains
The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC1555 that you referenced, which are confirmed to fit the 235/65-16 size tires on your Honda Odyssey, features a heavy-duty construction that should last a good while but we absolutely have replacement parts and tools that you can keep on hand in the event that something happens. I recommend adding the Titan Chain Repair Pliers # TCRP1 and a 4-Piece Link Set # TCRK-1 that will let you quickly repair and replace individual links. We do also have...

  • Titan Tire Chain Correct Fitment For a 2006 Toyota Tundra With 265/70-17 Tires
You will need the smaller Titan Chain Tire Chains # TC2526 for your 2006 Toyota Tundra with 265/70-17 tires. The Chains # TC2533 are for larger tires and will not fit your Tundra's tires. I recommend picking up a spare Rubber Strap # TCRE-1 since that is the weak point of the chains and can break. This will allow you to repair the chains if they should become damaged while you are using them.

  • Length of Replacement Rubber Fastener for Titan Chain 1500 and 2300 Series Snow Tire Chains
I measured the Replacement Rubber Fastener for Titan Chain Diamond Pattern Alloy Tire Chains # TCRE-1 to find the overall length, and I found that from end-to-end, the fastener measured about 5-3/4 inches. Keep in mind that this chain is only designed to work with the Titan Chain 1500 and 2300 Series pull-tight chains and will only fit chain links that are up to 0.145" (3.7 mm) thick.

  • Can the Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster be Used with the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains
I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2326. I do however have a few ideas for you to correct this issue and the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster part # TCMA3 is one of them. I have spoke to Titan in the past about the tensioner chain becoming loose and they recommend two things. The first thing they recommend is to add an additional tension like the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster. The next...

  • Tire Chains to Fit 2017 Kia Sorento Front Wheel Drive
I looked up your order and you purchased # TC2319 tire chains. This will fit your 2017 Kia Sorento if you have either tire size 235/60-18 or 235/65-17. If you have 235/55-19 sized tires # TC2317 is the correct chain. The tensioners are sold separately. You'll need # TCRE-1. I looked at an online version of your owner's manual and it states that since you have a front wheel drive vehicle to use them on the front tires only and do not exceed 20 mph.
