Front Suspension Support

A heavy front load can cause front-end sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the front axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your rear axle, your rear tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy front load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your rear tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Great upgrade from the oem jounce. Easy to install with 2 people but follow the install video and use a 1/2" deep socket with a long extension. Took about 30 minutes.

Love the Sumo springs, they stabilize the ride, dampen the side to side sway. Installed both front and rear springs for the best results.

@Louis Great to hear. Thank you for the update.

by:

It made a big difference in how the steering feels at lower speeds on rough roads.

2/26/2024

Still very pleased with my choice. Would definitely recommend and have done so on other forums.

by:

Installation was pretty straightforward. My only complaint is that it was hard to find information on what size socket to use to remove the Mercedes-Benz production springs. Had to search the web. Then it turns out that the instructions call out a 10 mm socket for the sumo springs but it’s really half-inch other than that. That was great.

I can tell the new springs are stiffer looking forward to a long-term evaluation.

by:
2020 Thor Outlaw Motorhome

Immediately i noticed less sway at low speed. I just did a 700 mi trip and it made my driving experience much more comfortable. Alot better control when the big rigs passed me . I spoke to several other c class rv owners that didn't have them installed and highly recommended that they do. Truly a good investment. And I am not associated with sumo springs.

by:

We love our Sumos. They are easy to install and they helped with our sway and jouncing. Unfortunately, we just added a new rear suspension package which lifted the rear about 2 inches. Now the Sumos don’t touch the axle and won’t provide much sway damping. They act now more like a very fancy jounce bumper. Still good to know that the rear Sumos will give us extra protection should we hit a wicked pothole. Front sumos still snug against the axle and helping with sway and crosswinds

by:

If you have been on the fence about whether or not to add Sumo Springs to your Isata 3. I have to say do it now, don’t wait! The ride is greatly improved and the handling is way more confident. Body roll and rocking is diminished. Going up hill over a pass, pulling a 14 foot cargo trailer, I could keep my foot into the throttle and under power through the curves instead of lifting and losing momentum. Downhill I was able to stay a little more off the brakes and drive through the corners. Yellow Sumo Spring set on the rear and black up front(cab over). Purchased from eTrailer.

by:

Watched the videos on installation etrailer and they we very helpful. This is an easy diy project. It took less than an hour to do all 4. Only tools needed were a screwdriver, 1/2 inch socket, pry bar, and WD40.

by:
2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500

Easy to install , Itook the front tires off for easy access. If i had a lift i most likely would have not had to take the tires off

by:

Really helpful for front suspension

by:

Installed on class c rv . Really helped with the handling in adverse winds and semi trucks passing. Installation was easy.

by:

Love the product fairly easy to install. Took just about two hours for all four Sumosprings. The front was a bit more challenging and I’ve seen somewhere else about using a plastic bag that you can cut up and inserted in the 13 mm deep socket, this will keep the nut in place while threading.

Your videos are very helpful and strongly suggest that you create a how too for the front replacement

Thomas

Love them. Highly recommend both front and rear. Easy to install

by:
2018 Subaru Forester

This was a very easy install. It took less than an hour. I installed them on a 2018 Forest River Forester which is on an E450 chassis. My rig is equipped with Firestone airbags in the back so I only needed the Sumos in the front.

I’m looking forward seeing how they improve the handling of my RV. I haven’t ventured out on the road.

Great product. Really helps with front end sway. My Class C RV handles well. Sumo Springs have really paid off.

Still working, very happy with sumospring

by:
2010 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

If you own a 2021 sprinter motorhome then these are a must. I have a Dynamax isata 3 and once I added these the sway in wind was drastically reduced. Love them and took 10 minutes to install. Very simple

by:

We installed the front Sumosprings on our Class C Jayco Melbourne a year ago. We immediately noticed a big positive difference in the ride. It was much smoother and had much less impact when going over bumps in the road. The biggest difference we noted was a great deal better stability in side-to-side sway when going around corners, crosswinds on the road, and going over entry curbs. This was a great addition and I highly recommend it.

Paul

5/2/2023

Im still happy with the Sumosprings. They have performed well and make a big difference in the handling of our Class C, especially in turns and when entering uneven drives and parking lots.

by:

I have had these on for a year, very very happy with the results. Really settled the ride, much more controlled less sway. Drove to Alaska this summer, felt very controlled hitting those frost heaves on the Alcan, never bottomed out at all. Would definitely purchase again.

by:

We were on vacation when our order was delivered however, the post office did not notify us it was delivered. After arriving home I called to find out what happened to our order; they were very helpful in sending us the notification and information as to where it was delivered and went on to state if not found they would resend us our order. We did find them at our PO even though they still had not put a notice in our box. Excellent customer service from etrailer!

by:
2023 Ford E-Series Cutaway

Install was simple noticed a difference on the road test

by:

The easiest and best way to improve handing and control of the E450.

by:

Felt like it improved stability, still feeling them out.

by:

Could not be easier to install. Removed OEM and installed these in less than 15 minutes. Increased front wheel well clearance and leveled out the front of the motor home. I no longer feel like I am going to slide out of my seat while driving.

What a difference these things make to the ride. I don't feel like a porpoise when driving over rough roads. After a couple of bumps the ride smooths out. They also reduce the side to side sway when cornering or when a large semi rolls by.

Well worth the money.

by:

Should make a huge difference to my camper van

by:

Fit perfect. It took longer to get my tools out than installing. I would recommend locktite on the bolts.
Delivery was fast and great customer service!!
Thanks e-trailer.

by:

These front bump stops were easy to install and work very well to help control vehicle roll and on road stability. I am very happy with them.
First pic 0451: Shows the new vs the old bump stop!
Second pic 0508: Shows the right stop installed and uncompressed.
Third pic 2825: shows left bump stop fully compressed.

2018 Jayco Greyhawk Motorhome

I found these springs while researching a towing question. I was more than impressed with portrayal of part, adequate info and glowing reviews. I was further delighted by speed of arrival and impressed with branding of the packaging. Top notch. Front and back installed in about an hour. Instructions
are clear. Took me more time to figure the socket size for removing the E-450 OEM front stops.
