How to Reduce Side to Side Movement on a 2017 Thor Four Winds Motorhome
Question:
Hello, I have a 2017 Thor Four Winds Class C motor home on a Ford E450 chassis. The coach is 27.5 feet long. I am looking into suspension enhancements to improve the ride and reduce the side to side sway. Can you recommend the proper SumoSprings for the front and rear of this unit? The weight capacities that are listed, are they for each spring or for the set of two combined? Thanks for your help.

The side to side sway and body roll will be greatly reduced when you add anti-sway bars to your 2017 Thor FourWinds Motorhome. If you've already done this, then Sumo Springs are a great option for more support. If you haven't added sway bars, I recommend starting with the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for Motor Homes # RM-1139-147 and then adding the Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar for Motorhomes # RM-1139-176. These help keep the frame from twisting and moving. I've attached some videos to assist.
If you already have the anti-sway bars in the back and front, then Sumo Springs are a great next step. I recommend the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-106-40-1. This fit requires 7 inches of minimum clearance from sidewall of tire to frame on dual rear wheel models. Then for the front I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle # SSF-106-47. These springs work independently and have progressive load control to reduce body roll and give you the stability you are seeking.
