Perhaps the simplest type of heat exchanger, the tube-fin effectively cools a variety of automotive systems. The concept is simple: Fluid cools as it travels through the core by transferring heat out to the fins. The fins then provide the surface area necessary for sufficient heat exchange to take place, allowing the heat pulled from the fluid to dissipate into the surrounding air. Quick, easy and effective.

Take it a step further with a fan-mounted unit and you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your tube-fin cooler no matter where it is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through, making it perfect for those hot days spent sitting in traffic.

This fan/cooler assembly seems to be good; however, in order to truly check it I will have to put a temperature gauge on the trani and oil lines to measure pre-cooling vs. post-cooling.

The cost to install will be higher because you must buy hoses and fittings, and you may need to buy oil-filter adapters.

It is a good size for my 2010 Town & Country (I could not use the larger, oil-alone or trans-alone coolers for this reason); I installed it near the left front wheel (but I needed to make a brace out of 2x6 wood for this).

by:

Product was an easy install. Will fit in tight space. On bad thing I can say is the top three fitting are to close together. They need to be off set. I still would recommend it to others.

by:

I use this unit as a pre-cooler for my race transmission so that not so much heat transfers to my radiator. It works better than expected, and my tranny and engine run cooler. I consider this a small investment to help protect the much greater investment in my car.

  • Front Mount Hitch Recommendation for a 2005 F-250 or F-350 to Use a Motorcycle Carrier
For your 2005 Ford F-250 or F-350 Crew Cab the only front mounted hitch that we offer is the Draw-Tite # 65022, please note that this front mount hitch receiver has a maximum weight limit of 500 pounds of vertical load. I have included the installation instructions for this hitch. Please note that your front fog lights will need to be removed for the hitch installation, and can not be re-installed and used while the front mount hitch is in place. The tow hooks will also be removed for...

  • Combination Oil and Transmission Cooler for a 2004 Nissan Frontier
Coolers are not vehicle specific so you will be able to install the Derale combination cooler # D15230 in your 2004 Nissan Frontier. You will just need the proper installation kits. Use # D15752 for the oil cooler portion and # D13006 for the transmission cooler portion. Since the cooler has its own fan it can be mounted anywhere there is space for it. The overall dimensions of the cooler are 12-3/4" wide x 7-5/8" tall x 3-3/4" deep.

  • Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler for a 2013 Ram 2500 Diesel
A remote cooler such as # D15230 would be the ideal solution for exactly what you are needing on your 2013 Ram 2500. It will provide the optimum amount of cooling no matter what speed you are going or where it is mounted. It is hard to put an exact figure on how much cooler it will make the fluids. I had a regular aftermarket cooler on a car and saw temperatures drop as much as 20 degrees. A remote cooler will be at least at this level and likely better. With this cooler I also recommend...

  • Towing Capacity and Parts Needed to Tow with a 2002 Toyota Sienna
The first place to look in regards to weight ratings for any vehicle is the owner's manual. I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2002 Toyota Sienna and it states on page 244 that if you have the factory towing package your max trailer weight capacity is 3,500 lbs. Without the factory towing package your max trailer weight rating is reduced to 2,000 lbs so unfortunately you will need to look for a lighter trailer. From what I could tell it looks like the only...

  • Will Derale Econo-Cool Combo Engine and Trans Cooler D15230 Work on 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel
I reached out to my contact at Derale just to get his thoughts on adding the Derale Econo-Cool Combo Engine and Trans Cooler # D15230 to your particular setup. He said that technically the cooler would fit and work fine on your 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, either with or without the bypass filter you mentioned. He also added though that he honestly doesn't think an engine oil cooler is necessary. For your 1500 you will get much better results with adding a larger, transmission only cooler...

  • Can Derale Econo-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler # D15230 Be Mounted Under Vehicle
I spoke to my technical contact at Derale and as long as the Econo-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler, # D15230, is mounted underneath the vehicle with the fan facing downward (toward the street) and used in normal conditions, you should not have any problems. Mounting it under the vehicle and using it in extreme conditions, like off-roading through mud, could damage the fan. As for powered cooler vs one without the fan, the powered cooler does not have to be mounted in a certain...

  • Combination Transmission Fluid and Engine Oil Cooler Recommendation for a 2009 Nissan Frontier
As long as you have room for it I would recommend keeping your factory transmission cooler and then installing a Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler with Multiple Threads # D15902 upstream of it. The cooler has dimensions of 17" Wide x 12-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep. The sandwich adapter is thermostatically operated so that your engine oil will be able to get to operating temperature before it opens. The part # D15220 that you mentioned is another option as well. • How to Connect and Wire the Remote Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler to a Vehicle
To install and use the part # D15230 on your 2013 Chevy Tahoe will require the part # D15752 for the oil cooler portion and then for wiring the fan you would also need the Derale Remote Mounting Kit, part # D13023. This kit will use an in-line thermostat that will turn on the fan at 180 degrees and automatically turn off the fan at 165 degrees. You would need the fan to spin the same direction as the fan for your radiator so the two wouldn't be working against each other. To switch the...

Honda has traditionally required a transmission cooler and power steering cooler for towing but not an engine oil cooler. for a remote combination oil and transmission fluid cooler I recommend # D15230. You will also need installation kit # D13006 and oil cooler kit # D15752. This is a thermostatic oil cooler kit so the thermostat will be associated with the engine oil temperature and it will activate once the temperature reaches 180 degrees so it will be perfect for your application.
