This product broke during the install. The threaded probe broke free from the body during the wiring process and now is non functional and non repairable. What I received is similar to what's pictured but not the same. The one I received does not have the wires attached to it but has flat terminals and when pushing on the terminals it broke free.

I have. It installed this yet but should work for my needs. Currently the fan is running off a selectable switch but will change the switch out for the thermostat soon

To use it as an engine oil cooler you would want the part # D15752 and # D15721 and then for use as a transmission cooler you would need just the # D13023.
view full answer... - Thermostat Recommendations for an Electric FanFor an electric fan you would need to use a different thermostat control like # D15721 for an in-line or # D16720 for a thread-in style. The thread in style is recommended for fans that draw more than 10 amps. Each of these thermostats is rated higher than the 8 amps your fan is drawing. The thermostats will start the fan if the temperature gets above 180 degrees. No switch or additional harnesses (other than regular wire appropriate for this application) are needed.

- Switch Options for the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Cooler Assembly w/ FanA relay would not be required for the installation of the # D15860. All that is needed is power and ground and it will work just fine. You could activate it with a switch like part # D16740 or with a thermostat switch like part # D15721.
