Derale Power Steering Coolers

  • With - 6 AN Inlets
  • Cooler Only
  • Derale
  • 8-1/4W x 5T x 3/4D Inch

8-1/4" Wide x 5" tall x 3/4" deep, tube-fin heat exchanger improves the longevity and overall functioning of your vehicle's power steering system.

Features:

  • Cuts back on heat-related pump failures
  • Extends the life of both pump and seal
  • Designed with copper tubing expanded into aluminum fins for maximum heat transfer
    • Copper is the best material for conducting the heat out of the fluid while aluminum is ideal for transferring and dissipating that heat
  • Provides protection during installation with extruded plastic fin guards
  • Made in USA

Specs:

  • Inlets: -6 AN
  • Overall dimensions: 8-1/4" wide x 5" tall x 3/4" deep
  • 1-Year warranty

Perhaps the simplest type of heat exchanger, the tube-fin effectively cools a variety of automotive systems. The concept is simple: Fluid cools as it travels through the core by transferring heat out to the fins. The fins then provide the surface area necessary for sufficient heat exchange to take place, allowing the heat pulled from the fluid to dissipate into the surrounding air. Quick, easy and effective.

  • Power Steering Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Ford Truck with a 7.3L Motor
The larger the cooler the more cooling you will get out of it. If you are doing a lot of towing or carrying weight in the bed or even using a snow plow a large cooler would be a good idea. The cooler you selected is a good choice but for the kit use # D13212. It includes mounting hardware, hose clamps, and hose. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.

  • Is Derale Tube-Fin Power Sterring Cooler Made with Copper
These particular Derale Tube-Fin Coolers, part # D13309 and part # D13212, are copper tube with aluminum fin construction. Most of the coolers available will use copper and aluminum. Copper is used because it has excellent heat transfer abilities so it can transfer heat easily to aluminum which has excellent heat dissipation properties. Stainless does not transfer or dissipate heat as well. Derale does offer some all aluminum coolers where both the tubes and fins are made of aluminum for...

  • Power Steering Cooler For Use With Farm Tractor
My recommendation for your farm tractor is to make this easy for you because the unique fitting issues are already in play. I suggest using the Derale 4-Pass Tube-Fin Power Steering Cooler - 8-1/8" Wide, # D13212, which uses hose barb inlets and hose clamps. This kit comes with 4 feet of 11/32 inch rubber hose with all the necessary mounting hardware for a vehicle. Whether you go with the # D13309 or the # D13212, this is not a typical application, so some custom fittings will be needed....

  • Power Steering Cooler Recommendation for a 1985 Ford F-250 with a 460 Engine
The choice of a power steering cooler for your 1985 Ford F250 will be primarily dependent on how much room you have near the power steering pump and how much airflow you can get to that area to help the cooler lower the temperatures of the power steering fluid. Typically coolers are mounted in front of the radiator, so I would recommend you measure how much room you have in front of the radiator and pick a cooler that will fit those dimensions. Most likely you will need to cut and flare...

  • Recommend Derale Aluminum Tube Fin Transmission Cooler For a Snowmobile
We do have all aluminum coolers available, they are the 6000 series coolers from Derale. Checkout the Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin, part # D12901, which is an all aluminum cooler. The # D12901 cooler measures 13 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and is 3/4 inches thick. You will need to measure to see if you will have room on your snowmobile to mount the cooler. We do not have an aluminum tube fin cooler as small as the Derale # D13212 cooler that you referenced. For other aluminum coolers in...
