Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. Now this wiring harness is designed to fit your 2023 and newer Ford Escape hybrid, or excluding hybrid and PHEVs and also without a factory tow package. Now this harness is going to give you a four-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights.

This is going to be compatible with five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters. And of course those adapters are sold separately. And included is this dust cap for the four-pole flat connector that's going to cover up those connection points when the plug is not being used. It's gonna be a very tight fit, so you're not gonna have to worry about that cap accidentally coming off. It's gonna keep this connector clean until the next time you're ready to use it and you're not gonna have to worry about cleaning off any corrosion or debris or anything like that.

Now this black box on this harness is a powered taillight converter and this is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer. It does connect directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system, reducing strain on your vehicle's wiring system. Now Curt builds each converter using surface mount technology for consistent reliable performance. It maximizes trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, ensuring superior operation in rough road conditions. Now this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily.

The connections with the yellow wires are going to go on your driver's side and the connections with the green wires are gonna go to the passenger side of your vehicle. And you will need to locate your vehicle's wiring harness located behind the driver's side and passenger side taillights. You will have to remove the taillight assemblies to access this harness. And once you locate the connectors, then you're going to separate the connectors and you wanna be careful not to break the locking tabs and then you'll insert these T-connector ends between the vehicle's wiring connectors and lock them into place. These T-connectors are custom fitted for your vehicle, so they're gonna match up perfectly with the connection points on your vehicle and they're going to snap and lock together for a tight, secure fit.

Now once you have these connections plugged in, you will need to make a good ground connection. The ground wire is this white wire that has a ring terminal attached to it. It does come with this self-tapping screw, so you can get this grounded to a suitable location such as your vehicle's frame or cross member. You do wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust free. Then you will need to mount this converter box to a safe out-of-the-way location. You can do that with another mounting screw that you might have on hand, or you can use this double-sided adhesive tape or maybe even with one of the many cable ties that's included with this kit. Next, you will need to run this hot lead to the vehicle battery and that's the short black wire that's coming out of the converter box. This short black wire is going to get connected to one end of this included bundle of black wire, using one of the included butt connectors. And then the other end of this bundle will get routed to your vehicle's battery. And once you have this routed to your battery, you are going to take this fuse holder, you're gonna snip the wire in half here, and then you're going to take the second butt connector and connect one of these wires to the routed black wire. The other half of this wire will get this fuse holder, I'm sorry, this ring terminal attached to this other wire of the fuse holder. And then that ring terminal will get connected to the positive post on your vehicle's battery. This does include a 15 amp fuse that you will then insert into the fuse holder. And then as you can see, it does have a cap that's going to keep that fuse safe and protected. You can secure any excess or slack in your wiring with the included cable ties that I mentioned earlier. And once installation is complete, the four-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk. Now the maximum amperage for your stop/turn lights is three amps per circuit and for the tail lights it's six amps per circuit. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process and it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four-pole connector itself. This grease is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. On your screen, I am including our item number for that grease.
