The tail light kit was easy to install, but I had to replace one of the lights within three months. The lights don't appear to be very durable. I purchased a different LED bulb as a replacement and it appears to be working good now.

Your products have been perfect, good fits and quality products. The towing base plate for my ford Fiesta fit with little modification and the ability to use standard tools. The instructions were right on. The tail light wiring kit also was easy and works great.
Shipping was fast and delivery arrived as indicated.
I will continue to do business with you.

These are terrible. They were properly installed, instructions never stated that the bulbs themselves are polarity sensitive; one was shipped in its socket backwards. Had to completely pull apart post installation to discover this problem. After working out that issue, I then find that cannot see them in the day light at all. Not direct sun light, that's obviously a no-go and even worse, I mean just plain ole day light, they absolutely cannot be seen. They barely provide a fleck of light within the tail lamp housing when lit full-bright in brake or turn-signal mode.

I was also not happy to discover that they were not set-up as separate turn/brake lamp and parking light wires. Instead, they use some voltage cutting resistor in-line on a single input wire, which was a cheap shortcut to provide something such as a proper hi-lo dual brightness LED module. The socket used is for your typical bi-pin type 194 marker/courtesy light.

Stay away from these until they come out with something either 3 times the size of the leds, brightness and wiring of a real 3157 tail lamp LED module, or increase the included bulb to a 3 row module. These mini LEDs are for courtesy/map/marker lamp use, not for lighting a full tail lamp housing. They are inadequate as-is.

You can buy these exact LED 194 replacements by the dozen (yes, 12 LED modules) for under $10. The lumen output of one of these at full brightness is only 40 lumen. That's worse than a nightlight bulb (310 lumens), or for direct comparison to your typical 3157 tail lamp bulb such as in my vehicle, a 3157 bulb outputs >400 lumens on the bright filament, and ~200 lumen on the lower for parking lamp. How they figured 40 lumen would be nearly enough is beyond me, and just plain poor product design and research.

Now that I've had to pull them out, I'm left with two destroyed tail lamp housings (having been drilled out) off my brand new vehicle I bought last month with <500 miles on it.

I like how easy it was to install and the fact you don't have to cut into the cars wiring harness. What it lacks is brightness. The LED's just aren't doing the job. I'm looking at putting bigger taillight LED's to replace the puny stock LED's. The stock LED's are truly a safety hazard. If Blue Ox has fixed that issue it would get an 8 star on a five star scale.

I am in the Teton's finishing up a seasonal job and needed to repair my towed vehicle lights--one side quit working. While checking it out I broke a wire so I decided to just redo the installation. I needed the kit quick and paid for faster shipping so I could get to work on this before I have to depart. the kit came a day sooner than promised. It is a pretty simple kit to install. Instead of running it under the vehicle as it was in the original installation, I routed it through the interior. I watch the Youtube video's a few times to be sure I understood how to do (I was an operator in the military--I break stuff, not fix it). I use eTrailer for all my various needs (tow bar, roof racks, misc stuff) and they are always easy to work with and the deliver as promised.

by:

This kit worked perfectly for me. The LEDs are small enough to make placement easy. The LED lights are bright enough to be seen easily in the daylight.

by:

Product was as ordered, at first I didn't think the Red LEDs would be bright enough inside a Red Lens but they work fine. I had concerns about them and emailed on a Sunday and was surprised that I got a response that afternoon.

by:

Works good after a year of being bounced around. Great product.

by:

Received my order on the day promised in good condition in sealed packaging. Planning my next road trip and I am sure they will work perfectly.

by:

LED lights are small and awesome

by:

Nice product. Small bright LED’s that fit into tail lite assembly without drilling a massive hole like some others. Would have given 5 * except seems pricey for what you get.

by:

everything is included in the kit. will install today.great service.

  • Flat-Tow Wiring Harness and Supplemental Braking System for a 2016 Jeep Cherokee
I do have options for you but neither the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit part # RM-155 or the Blue Ox Tail Light Wiring Kit part # BX88267 will fit your 2016 Jeep Cherokee as there is not enough room inside the tail light housing for the new bulbs. Instead, I recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles part # HM56208 as it is a completely plug and play kit that does not require you to cut any wires or the tail light housing. There won't be any issues using...

  • Can the LED Bulb and Socket Kit # BX88267 be Installed on a 2009 Subaru Forester for Flat Towing
We do have an LED wiring kit just like the Kit # BX8869 that you referenced. It is found as part # BX88267 on our site. You can use the LED kit if your 2009 Subaru Forester does not have LED tail lights and if each tail light housing has enough room for an extra bulb and socket. It could be that there is no room for an extra bulb and socket which would be why the Roadmaster Kit # RM-152-LED isn't confirmed to fit. If you do have LED tail lights (or you don't have enough room for an extra...

It completely bypasses the wiring on your 2004 Mini Cooper and directly connects to the motorhome for signal source. If you check out the linked installation video you can see our team install this kit as well as the Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-164-7 for flat towed wiring.

  • Is Replacement LED Bulb Available for the Blue OX Tail Light Wiring Kit
I reached out to my contact at Blue Ox who said that unfortunately the LED lights are not removable from the harnesses in the Wiring Kit # BX88267 so you would unfortunately need to replace the whole kit. Instead of replacing your whole kit I recommend just swapping out the Blue Ox lights with the Replacement LED Bulbs and Sockets # RM-152-2 from Roadmaster. This prevents you from having to run more wiring or perform further installation on your 2018 Ford F-150.
