Can the LED Bulb and Socket Kit # BX88267 be Installed on a 2009 Subaru Forester for Flat Towing

Hello, Im looking for a LED bulb and socket kit for towing 2009 Subaru Forester. I found the question on your website that the Blue Ox Bulb and Socket Kit # BX8869 will work. However, I was hoping to find LED bulb rather than regular bulb. Or do you know if I can swap bulb out and put in LED one? I really would like to get the Roadmaster LED kit but it says its not confirmed? How can I find out what the issue is? RM-152-LED Also, the kit doesnt seem to have the other connector that I need to hookup to my RV. I have a 7 wire plug on the RV so would this be the other part I need to have complete installation? We do have an LED wiring kit just like the Kit # BX8869 that you referenced. It is found as part # BX88267 on our site.

You can use the LED kit if your 2009 Subaru Forester does not have LED tail lights and if each tail light housing has enough room for an extra bulb and socket. It could be that there is no room for an extra bulb and socket which would be why the Roadmaster Kit # RM-152-LED isn't confirmed to fit.

If you do have LED tail lights (or you don't have enough room for an extra bulb and socket) then you will need to use a diode system like the Kit # BX8848 to prevent signal backfeed on your circuit. I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox who confirmed this.

Either way, you can wire it to the Kit # BX88254 that you referenced which comes with the coiled electrical cord that will fit the 7-Way on your RV.
