Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Valterra Sink Drain with Strainer Basket. This is going to work for your standard 2 1/8 inch diameter RV sink drain holes, and you can see this is going to include all the hardware that you're gonna need to make sure that you have a nice snug fit underneath your sink. So you just tighten down that nut there, and that will provide a nice tight seal for you. You have your strainer basket with these small feet on it, and that are rubberized so that you can have the option to allow water to run through, or give it a slight twist and push it in, and that's going to close that off. It's not going to be perfectly water tight, but it will stop most of the water from draining.
And then, obviously when you have it open, it's still going to allow water to flow through, but it is going to catch food and that sort of debris that you don't want getting down into the pipes, and so you'll have that to catch. So this will fit with your 1.5 inch p-traps, you can also use the included 3/8 inch barbed drain adapter that will fit in very easily. Here, just switching out our seal, and then getting that tightened down like so. So depending on what you're needing, you've got a couple of different options there, very simple to switch out to accommodate your needs. So if you are wanting to replace your current sink drain, or if you're wanting to add a drain to your sink that you're installing fresh that doesn't have one, then this is gonna be a great option for you either way.
I do wanna give you a couple measurements here, make sure that this is gonna work for you. You can see this is right about 2 3/4 of an inch at the lip, and then if we take this right back off, you can see overall depth, we're looking at about, call it 1 5/8 of an inch there. So make sure that this is gonna work for your setup. I think it'll do a great job for you, and allow you to have that strainer option if you want it. So that completes our look for today.

Kitchen sink leaked from day one. Repaired under warranty with sub-standard parts. Found a high quality drain assembly at etrailer. Easy install by me and we’re good to roll. Great products, part descriptions, helpful advice available. etrailer is my to go spot for all my RV needs.
Fits and looks nice, but doesn't seal water great. Fits nicely in sink with 2 1/8" hole. Had a problem with the unit where the stopper did not hold water at all. The people at E-Trailer were great and arranged for a replacement from the manufacturer. The original version leaked tremendously. The replacement unit still dribbles, so it wont' hold a tank of water forever, but that probably isn't the intended design. Note that if you are using the barbed exit tube, the white barb piece can interfere with the "seating" of the stopper, which will also cause large leaking. So I put an extra washer between the sink and the barbed adapter and that fixed it. Since it still dribbles, this assembly just isn't good for holding a sink full of water. The drain fitting is perfect, but you might want to get a small sink stopper for $2 or so and you'll have a great seal. I couldn't find an alternate solution, so this combo works great for our trailer.
I recently purchased a quality 2014 pre-own travel trailer. The only thing I dislike about it is the cheap kitchen sink drains. They refused to hold water and the artificial chrome plating peeled off. This drain purchased from etrailer is solid stainless steel construction.

I replaced the baskets on both drains on our RV's kitchen sink. They are well made and installed perfectly. We have put about 75 days of active live in use on them over the past year and was just thinking a couple of days ago how nice they have been. What a great improvement over the plastic baskets that the RV manufacturer had installed.
the product was just what I ordered, perfect fit. and was delivered in a timely manner. 4 stars. reason not 5 was there was a damaged corner on the sink, but it could have been done by the shipping co. will be ordering again from etrailer.com
Drain was returned. Description was misleading and did not fit the kitchen sink.
Looks like a good sturdy product, instructions and note about plumbers putty would be beneficial to the gaskets are placed correctly and fittings diagrams for different styles of pipe connections to it.
Product is fine. Would be nice if there were instructions included for those DIYers such as myself who’ve never installed a drain before. I used it on a specialty laundry sink that had a small drain hole. This worked perfectly!
Purchased these along with a stainless sink. Excellent product. The stainless versus plastic is a sensible choice when making a replacement

We love the sink however the strainer baskets are a pain to use you must play with them so they hold the water in the sink.
