Secure, Two-Piece Jaw

Q20 Two-Piece Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Q20 Color Indicator System

360-Degree Pivot

Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.

I bought a new trailer recently that weighs 16k and I just didn't feel secure using my Reese pro series 16k to Haul with. So I started looking at various hitches. I've had 3 other fifth wheel hitches in the past. All of them have been 15 and 16k models. What I never liked was the latching system. I've even had a trailer come out of the hitch due to a poor latching hook up. There wasn't an good way to lock the hitch. Some of it was my fault and some was a poor design. When I saw the Curt Q20 had a latch on the handle and also was color coded I was hooked. This hitch satisfied my want list. It arrived 4 days after I ordered it and like other comments I've read it was full of heavy duty staples. It was double packaged. There had to be over 50 staples. It was defiantly packaged securely. After dimantaling the packing I finally got to the hitch. There were a few scratches on the hitch from all the staples but a bit of black touch up paint took care of that. After all the hitch is going to be used and get scrached by me anyways. Four bolts and it was together. It fit perfictly it my existing rails. By the way it's heavier than my other hitches. I wound be apprehensive to pull my new trailer. If your looking for a great hitch at a great price you can't go wrong.

by: Richard P08/31/2016

Unlike other reviews...I will say that my packages all arrived in perfect condition. (Boxes were all intact). Assembling the Q20 is a breeze and by all appearances this hitch certainly seems to be more than adequate for my needs. I haven't had a chance to actually use it yet...but from what I can tell, I certainly don't expect any issues. I like the way the hitch latches and unlatches, and that you can add a lock to prevent someone from opening the jaws while you are parked somewhere. I think the only thing I'll add is a lock in place of one of the pins...just to make it difficult for someone to remove and steal the hitch.

by: Craig A.09/04/2017

I have just used the hitch on some very short pulls, nothing long yet. However, I can tell it is much quitter and does not seem to chuck as much as my old hitch. Appears to be very well built. Heavier than the old 15K hitch I had before. The only down I can find right now is that there is not a good place to hook up the emergency stop brake cable. I was able to rig up a connector that works just fine.

This product has worked perfect for me using with my 2012 Wildcat Sterling 5th wheel. Customer service is the best at etrailer.com. Just love doing business with them!

by: Richard03/16/2024

Arrived in the time identified, and all materials included. Box was damaged during shipping but packaged well enough that no damage occurred. Installed and got me out a jam caused by a height issue with original hitch installed by dealer causing the trailer to ride nose high. Leveled out and still maintaining the proper clearance between the bed and trailer.

by: Paul01/15/2022

Couldn't give it anymore stars after I took the hitch out of the box and it was all scratched up. Always good when you spend xxx on a hitch to receive it in that condition

by: Garry12/30/2023

Is difficult to get the jaws to lock- sometimes have to manually push one jaw to get it to spring closed. Any idea why?

by: Richard01/13/2018

Got my 5th wheel double boxed and in good shape. Took 2hrs to install outboard base rail kit. Everything finger tight. This Morning it took me 2hrs to drill the 4 center holes, I put 2 in the center on each rail, remove spare tire and torque everything down and replace spare tire.
The outboard base rail kit was a snap to install and I love the Curt Q20 with no floppy 5th wheel plate.

by: Rich F.06/03/2017

Great hitch. Used several times. Love the way it comes apart into two pieces for ease of carrying when taking it out and putting it back in. Locks the trailer in tight too. Gets my trailer to were I want to with no problems.

by: Alan 04/25/2024

Only way to go. Takes the pain out of installing a new hitch. Worth the extra over a universal kit.

by: Glenn11/27/2017

I placed my order on Tuesday evening and it arrived early Friday. Very fast shipping!!! The hitch installed easily using etrailer custom rail kit. Hitch itself seems way to use. Can't wait to pickup new camper next week! Thank you etrailer for such awesome service!!!

by: Daniel 01/02/2024

Easy installation and I loved the fact everything you needed came in a package deal!

by: Craig -07/25/2023

This product was easy to assembly. Very clear instructions and it took less then an hour to install. I was impressed with the packaging. The cardboard box the rails came in had steel inserts in the corners to keep the rails from breaking through. The box also had 1/8" plywood in the top and bottom for rigidity. It fit perfectly in the puck system in my Silverado. By purchasing it from "Etrailer" and installing it myself, I saved $1,600 by not having the RV Dealership install one for me. Only tools I needed was a socket wrench and a torque wrench.

by: Bill03/10/2018

Bought the Q20 Curt hitch to replace the 16,000# Curt hitch we used for our previous 5th wheel trailer. The new trailer is heavier, so I wanted to upgrade. I like the Curt products and wanted to continue with them. The dual locking jaws were the real selling point.
etrailer and Lisa D are a joy to work with. We had a problem with another product and Lisa handled it perfectly and professionally.

by: Robert 08/09/2023

Excellent customer service and great pricing from e-trailer. The Q20 is an extremely heavy duty and well made hitch.

by: David 11/07/2019

Arrived on time with everything as promised. I have purchased multiple times from etrailer with outstanding results every time

This 5th wheel hitch was just 4 bolts to put together. Easy - peasy

by: Jim L.07/24/2016

I had a 16K Husky 5th wheel hitch for 12 years. It came with the RV purchase. We upgraded to a larger 5th wheel in 2015. I pulled it with the K16 but due to wear on the hitch I didn't feel comfortable.
I searched the internet and came upon etrailer.com. I began researching different hitches. I settled on Curt due to it's reviews.
I placed an order with etrailer and the next day I got an email with all of the shipping and tracking information.
I had the hitch in 5 days. I was very disappointed when it was delivered. The shipping box was very light duty and had been reinforced with pieces of cardboard damaged. There was also a lot of heavy duty staples holding it together.
I took photos upon delivery. After I opened the box I found the hitch was damaged. I immediately sent an email with photos of the box as received and the damage to the hitch.
I called customer service and talked to Gina and Janice and went over the details.
I was given instructions for returning the hitch and was emailed necessary papers to ship it back at no charge. I dropped it off at UPS the same day and received notification in 3 days that it was received.
I was also advised a new hitch would be sent out and I received it in 3 days.
At first I was very upset but after. That quickly changed after talking to the staff and receiving the new hitch within 5 days.
These type things sometimes happen. I give the staff at etrailer.com an applause for their quick handling of this issue.

I have since made another purchase. Give them a try.

This is a replacement hitch for a previous Curt Q20. I am very happy with the product and the service provided by etrailer. A great product at a fair price.

by: David10/10/2023

I have not received my hitch yet ups told me it was damaged and would let you..I called you yesterday to have you reship it I will give you a review when I get my hitch

by: Kellie09/15/2023

The product is scratched up from your packaging at what we paid you’d think you’d have a handle on this

by: Henry 12/29/2023

The product is sturdy and fits.

by: Kevin G 06/05/2017

I ordered the hitch on a Sunday evening of a holiday weekend, I received the shipping information on Monday of the holiday and was able to track it all to the way to my door, couldn't ask for better order tracking.
The hitch was double boxed with a lot of staples and arrived in excellent shape a package that heavy is going to have some external wear IMO from all the handling. The hitch came delivered in 3 piece which allowed for easy moving into the bed of the truck. The hitch has very nice and hopefully durable finish . I have yet to tow with it but like the indicator colors and the positive locking system.

by: Jeremy Norton10/04/2016

Just pulled my Voltage 3950 yesterday with this hitch and I cannot be more satisfied! The whole process from start to finish with etrailer.com was awesome. Yes, a little damage to the box but hey, if it means I get a quality hitch at a lower price then so be it. I'd rather them not overspend on shipping. Can't thank y'all enough.

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500
  • I would be happy to help you. There are two big differences in options for towing a 5th wheel trailer with your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500. The first and easiest would be if you have the prep package. What that is is a from the factory option that puts four holes in the bed of your Silverado for mounting a 5th wheel hitch (See picture below). This is a factory option only and there is no way to add this with aftermarket parts. With this system on your truck you have two options to install

  • To add a set of 5th wheel rails to your 2024 GMC Sierra 3500, I recommend the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails item # BWRVK2505. These are made in the USA and fit both the 6-3/4' and 8' bed models. The B&W item # BWRVK2505 rails are industry standard which means they are compatible with your Curt Q20 item # C16130 along with most 5th wheel hitches on the market. The brackets are custom fit and install in pre-existing holes in your Sierra's frame. I have attached a couple

When the hitch was installed on the F-550 it may have been tightened down with the gooseneck adapter installed and the rails are just out of position for your fifth-wheel hitch. If the hitch you have is not fitting by a small amount I would try to loosen the mounting bolts on the rails and then install the fifth-wheel hitch. • Differences Between Curt A20 and Q20 Fifth Wheel Hitches
  • The A20, like # C16140 essentially an updated version of the # C16130 Q20. The A-series hitches feature an interlocking jaw that holds the king pin very tightly all the way around its circumference for a very smooth ride without all the clanging and banging that would be experienced with lower-quality hitches. The head unit of the A-series fully articulates using torsion inserts that allows the head to articulate but also suppress shock. The head is easily removed by taking out one pin,

  • Can a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch be Installed on a 2006 GMC Sierra with an Underbed Gooseneck Hitch
  • It is highly unlikely that you will be able to install a 5th wheel trailer hitch in your 2006 GMC Sierra as long as the gooseneck hitch is installed. The problem is that a 5th wheel hitch installation kit will require the same or some of the same mounting locations as the gooseneck hitch so they would interfere with each other. What you can do is use an adapter to fit on the 5th wheel trailer to use with the gooseneck hitch. There are a couple of different options. If you have a Lippert

  • The Curt A20 # C16140 and Curt Q20 # C16130 are very similar 5th wheel hitches with the A20 being the more recent and improved version. The major difference is the A20 has interlocking jaws to further secure your king pin as opposed to the Q20 jaw locking system that do not interlock. This interlocking design is intended to give you more king pin contact on all sides for less jarring and chucking. The 360 degree head design that the Q series had didn't offer as much of a difference in
