Snowplow Installation
Front or rear mount? Versatility is the SnowSport LT's middle name.
Installation is quick and simple - just slide the included shank assembly into your 2" hitch receiver and secure with pin.
Once the plow frame is connected, attach the blade by lifting one end at a time onto the frame's holders. The lightweight aluminum blade construction makes lifting or adjusting an easy, one-person job. Secure the blade in either the transport or plowing position with the plow's snap pins. The low-profile design won't block your headlights, and the transport position is secure enough for highway travel.
If using with a rear-mount receiver, simply lower the blade to plow position and back up as usual. For a front-mounted plow blade, just drive forward with the blade in the plow position. The unique design takes the hassle out of plowing: This device has no hydraulics or complicated wiring. The push frame on the shank assembly allows the blade to move along the grade of the terrain for easier, more efficient plowing. The heavy-duty rubber cutting edge is effective yet turf friendly, collecting snow and squeegeeing slush without digging into the ground.
When you are ready to reverse your driving direction, the blade lies back, skimming over the surface of the ground until you change direction again to plow.
Handy blade markers extend vertically from the ends of the plow to help you see where you are plowing.
With the SnowSport LT, plowing snow is as easy as backing out of your driveway. Once you are finished plowing, simply lift the blade, refasten it in the transport position and head off for work or errands.

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the CURT Front Mount Trailer Hitch on your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. Adding a front mount trailer hitch to the front of your Silverado is gonna allow you to carry a various amount of items, that being bike racks, cargo carriers, or if you'd like to put a winch in there. A lot of people will use these to move trailers around. If you've got a tight space on your property and you can't quite get it in with backing the trailer in, you can always hook up a ball mount to the front of your hitch and pull it in forward. This front mount trailer hitch is gonna feature a 500-pound max tongue weight capacity.
That is you pressure pushing down on the inside of the receiver tube. So if you're moving trailers around or if you have a cargo carrier on the front, that's what you wanna keep in mind. Don't put any more than 500 pounds of downward pressure on it. It's going to have a gross trailer weight rating of 5,000 pounds. So if you're moving trailers around, you wanna stay under that amount, and then it's gonna have a 9,000-pound straight line pull.
That is the amount of pressure that you can use to pull with it if you have a winch or if you're using it as a pull point, if you're using it to have somebody else pull you out, then you should be more than fine because this truck does not weigh 9,000 pounds. Now, the hitch will feature a 2x2-inch hitch receiver tube opening, which is going to fit most of our accessories. That is gonna be the most common hitch size. It'll have a standard 5/8-inch hitch pin hole. The hitch pin and clip does not come with the kit, but we've got plenty on our website if you need one.
From the ground to the top inside of the receiver tube, it's gonna be about 13 1/2 inches. And for your ground clearance, from the ground to the bottom of the hitch, it's gonna be 11 inches. This particular vehicle has a leveling kit on it. So I'd say without the leveling kit, it'd be around nine inches 'cause it looks like it's about two inches higher in the front than factory. From the center of our hitch pin hole to the outermost part of our bumper is gonna be about...
8 1/2 inches or so. That is a very, very long distance. So if you look into a cargo carrier or something like that, you wanna make sure it's got a decent shank on the front. And there's not many accessories that are gonna fold up to the front of the vehicle, but in that case you'll just take them off and throw them in the bed of your truck. Now, as far as appearance goes, obviously we are missing the front plastic valance on here. Typically, the entire cross tube is hidden behind it, and the hitch receiver tube will go up inside the plastic a little bit. So you'll have to trim out a little bit, and it looks really good on the front of your Silverado. But that plastic valance is missing. And this particular one is gonna be using this for a snow plow, so it doesn't really bother them 'cause it's gonna be a whole plow assembly in the way. Now, as far as the installation goes, it's pretty straightforward installation. I'd say the hardest part is probably drilling the four holes that you will have to into your frame rails. You wanna make sure that you get those lined up pretty good because otherwise the bolts will not drop down through the hitch. But with that being said, let's go ahead and pull them in the shop and show you how we did it. Now, the first step in your installation is going to be to mark out and cut out your plastic fascia under here. As you can see, ours is not here, so we're not gonna have to do that. But if you do still have yours, I highly recommend just doing the next step first, which is lifting the hitch up into place and seeing if you will even need to mark that. If you don't have a super long one, I know from year to year they kind of change those aerodynamic plastic pieces under here. So I would lift a hitch up into place, see if it even makes contact. If it does, then you can go ahead and trim it. According to the instructions, they want it to be three inches wide from the center, three inches wide and an inch and a half into the bumper. Now, with an extra set of hands, we're gonna lift our hitch up into place. You want to get this forward most hole lined up with the access hole, Get it centered in our frame rail and then mark out our holes. Use a paint marker or a center punch to be able to mark those. Now, we're gonna use a variety of bits to step up to eventually a 17/32 hole where we just marked out for our hitch. (drill whirring) After you get your holes drilled out, it's not a bad idea to come back with some clear coat and just coat that metal so that we don't have to worry about rust later on. Now, we're gonna take our fish wire, a spacer block and one of our carriages bolts. We're gonna take the fish wire, run it through the back hole first because it's just a lot easier to run the wires, but we're trying to get up to this access hole to be able to run it out. It looks like we've got a lot of stuff inside of our frame that might be blocking it, but you can put slight bends on the fish wire and try to help you get it over there. There we go. We got it popped out here. You put your spacer block on first and your carriage bolt. Push that up through the frame and pull it out (fish wire clattering) or hold down here. (fish wire clattering) There we go, just like that. We're gonna repeat that same process for the remaining two holes. (fish wire clattering) Now, for your access hole, you want to do this one last, we're gonna have to reverse fish wire, so it means we'll have to stick the bolt up first. Then, these face are blocked. Get those up in there and then we can pull the bolt. And on the last ones, so for the access hole, you want to leave the fish wires on. Your kit's only gonna come with two. So I'd say take it off of these two and leave them on the two front ones. Now, with an extra set of hands, we're going to take our fish wire, feed it through our first hole in our hitch and lift it up into place. Be very careful to not push those bolts back up into the frame 'cause it will be very difficult to get out. We'll just take our flange nut, thread it on hand tight, so it can hold our hitch into place. Now, we're gonna take a 19-millimeter socket and get these snugged up. (drill whirring) Now we're gonna take our torque wrench and come back and torque all of our hardware to the specifications in the instructions. Well, guys, once you've got everything torqued down to the specifications and the instructions, that's gonna do it for the installation. Well, guys, hopefully this video helped you decide whether or not the CURT Front Mount Trailer Hitch is right for you and your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

Fit my 2014 Silverado present and I had a good idea how the job would go before the hitch even showed up.A little slow on the shipping but other than that very happy with my purchase.
Purchased a front mount receiver hitch for my pickup from etrailer.com. The hitch mounted exactly as it said and was a super to install. I plowed snow all winter with a receiver plow. Now I move three times the snow now in a third of the time.
2014 Chevy Silverado. The hitch arrived in what seemed to be record time.
Install was very straightforward. The only issue was the front mounting holes were too small to accept the spacer and bolt. A little time with a die grinder was all it took.
Since I was installing alone I used a short pipe clamp to hold the passenger side in place instead of a jack.
Install time was 50 minutes.
I have a 2" leveling kit on the truck and ended up with 10-1/2" of clearance below the hitch.
Overall I'm very pleased with the hitch. My primary use will be to occasionally mount a winch on the front or back as needed.
This front hitch works well with my rod/cooler rack for surf fishing! I installed myself using the instructions. (Would've been easier with a second person!). It's low profile. I removed the air dam to make it easier for install and gain more ground clearance overall. I have a 2018 Silverado.
The one arm was bent on the hitch, requiring us to take the hitch to a body shop for controlled straightening. Other than that the hitch was short not allowing clearance between my bumper and the wench. This required an extension to move the wench further out from the bumper and allowing a pin to pass through the hitch attaching the wench.
The hitch quality is great the fit was perfect and mounting time was about 35 minutes.
One thing that would make the installation better would be to include 6 of the fishing wires instead of only including 2. When bolting the hitch to the frame it is real easy to push the bolts back up into the frame. With the extras fish wires you can just feed them through the holes in the hitch and not worry about losing the bolt. This would make it much easier to mount. With that being said I would recommend this hitch to anyone who needs a front mount hitch.

Excellent Best Hitch on the market.
Very well built and easy install.
First order of business with the new mount. My new hydraulic-less plow for residential and some commercial servicea
Easy to install… Just right for my winch and four wheeler
The hitch came yesterday. It was packaged extremely well. The paint finish is great, I can't wait to install the hitch on the front of my pickup. It will be after Christmas now as too much to do to get ready for the holidays. After that I will submit a second review once the product is installed. etrailer is the best for products of this nature, always a good shopping experience . Thank you

well after a year and the hitch installed Ive yet to use it. Due to cover we have not traveled, but the hitch is great just the same.
Very easy install on 2017 sierra 1500. Took an hour by myself without jacking up truck. With two people and a jack could easily be done in no time. Jack is not needed but would’ve allowed a little more clearance to drill holes easier. Did not have to trim any of the fascia
Installation was easy even when combined with my grill guard.
Even so, I have three recommendations. 1) Remove the bottom plastic air deflector. This will help with installation and even more when inserting and removing hitches. 2) Install a 2" leveling kit to the front suspension. The stock ride height will let the receiver come in contact with high curbs when parking. 3) Use a hitch extension to get out in front of the bumper.
Hitch fit exactly as it should. Directions were clear, although I did watch an [online] video just to make sure I understood how to pull the bolts through the frame. It took me a little over an hour and a half to install by myself.

Still as solid as the day I got it.
This is the 2nd Front Hitch that I have purchased through eTrailer, made by Curt.
My first was for my 2004 GMC Sierra. After several years pushing a driveway plow and launching & precisely parking boats,....I decided to buy a new 2016 Silverado.
The 2004 Hitch mounted with only 2 bolts on each side. There was clever use of the tow hook bolt & an open access hole. No holes needed to be drilled. I bent the plow rack & bent a hitch extender over the years but never compromised the hitch. I'm going to give this hitch to my brother for his 2015 Silverado 2500 for a front winch mount.
The 2016 Hitch used an access hole on each side and required me to drill 2 more holes on each side. This hitch is just as strong as the rear hitch,....probably stronger! The instructions suggested that I trim the airdam,....didn't have to. I pulled out one screw and bent the airdam over a little.
The other brand offered by eTrailer was recognizable, but not as well designed & made as the Curt.
Next truck I buy,...I'll be back to eTrailer for another Curt Hitch!
Oh,...incidentally; the website, ordering, delivery, packaging, instructions were all GREAT!,....and like most busy people, I don't have time to give this feedback, but eTrailer's Bill P. asked kindly & deserves it.
Extremely well engineer, simple and easy installation. Most people don’t realize how easy a front hitch can make putting a camper or boat into a tight spot. I’m very satisfied. This is my second purchase of a front mounted hitch, second vehicle.
Product mounted up perfectly and works great. I use it for a cargo carrier to haul my moped to the campgrounds. I get lots of looks and inquiries about it. I have NO complaints with this company and I've bought plenty of stuff from them. Customer service is outstanding and delivery is ahead of time.
Installed this on a 2014 Silverado 1500. Very easy install with two people for an extra set of hands to hold hitch up while marking drill holes and tightening the first 2 nuts to hold the hitch to the frame. I had previously installed a 2" front end leveling kit on the truck so the ground clearance difference is barely noticeable. I would recommend this hitch to anyone looking to put this on a similar truck.
A great addition to any truck really and the price is reasonable. Easy to install with only 4 holes to drill in the front frame. Maybe 2 hours of work and it easily blends with the air dam under the front bumper. I use mine for a simple plow attachment to quickly clear my driveway. It's beefy enough to handle maneuvering a boat trailer into a tight parking spot also.
Great product, well built. went in just like the instructions said, though one must be very careful when positioning the hitch over the bolts coming down from the holes in the frame that are drilled. One bolt ended up being pushed up into the frame member and took 1+ hour to retrieve. Use the fish wires to extend from the bolts so if one (or more) ends up being pushed up passed the hole opening, it will be easy to retrieve!
Once in though, looked great and didn't even have to cut any of the "fascia" to fit the receiver.
I was a little surprised with the snow plow. I thought it was going to be hydraulic/electric. It does okay, going on flat and slight declines. Inclines not so good. I also. Bought a rear trailer hitch. Very pleased with it.
Was glad to receive my box early, however, the one brace on the hitch was 1/2" off and had to be pried out to fit properly...Not an easy task. As far as time installing the hitch, I am not a novice but it took me quite a while to install this. The fishing line kept going up, luckily i had long nosed pliers to pull it into place. All in all I am happy with the hitch.

Great
A front mounted hitch for me allows me to switch my winch from rear to front and to launch my boat trailer easier in some locations.

This hitch is doing a great job. So much easier to load my boat into the lake.
Great hitch. Fit perfectly on my truck.
Customer service really good, they keep you updated right from when you place your order.
Very easy installation (1 hour) with no problems. The air dam only required a vertical 3/4" cut to fit. I only cut the sides and let the tongue push the plastic upwards. The wire used to snake the nuts and washer bar into the frame is ingenious. All four fell into place on the first try.

It remains one of the best accessories to put on a truck. The ease of maneuvering a trailer is outstanding.

Turned out to be a bad ideal. It hits the curb sets too low and I wanted it for a bike rack and the bikes getting way of my Vision so I ended up taken it off period
