Being a visual learner I LOVE their video tutorials. The hitch and wiring harness were easy to install, though it always seems to take me longer than their estimate given I am not using air tools, etc.
Hitch was a perfect fit and just right for my little boat trailer. Very satisfied with it.
The hitch works as I had hoped, My bike rack fits well.
Shipping was fast, product fitup great, but it looked used or slid around during or before shipping. Powder coating flaked off, and weld beads were very poor.
Very easy to order on website. Fast shipping stop. And I like the videos that give you a ideal of installing the hitch. I was very happy to see that the hitch fit perfect with clearance for the touchless hatch operation.
Why doesn't the tube extend the 2" or 3". You have to use the extender to use a simple bike rack

The design of the draw-tite hitch part 36642 is a bit recessed under the vehicle. An extender will cut your tongue weight capacity by 50 percent. If you do not want to cut your tongue weight the best solution is to get a bike rack with a longer shank. The Thule hitching post pro is designed with 13-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole and the closest part of the carrier. This will give you enough clearance to use it on your GMC Terrain without an extender.
The video with step-by-step instructions worked out perfectly with no hiccups everything was as described in the description before purchase and installing the hitch and wiring harness was very easy and done in a timely manner highly recommended!
After reading instructions and watching the video it took about 1hour to install the hitch and trailer hitch

The hitch was very dusty like it's been in warehouse a long time and in a beat up semi open box. I was worried it was damaged but lucky it was not. It had all bolts and parts. It seems like over kill on a heavy hitch for a class II hitch.
Installation was exactly as shown on the instruction video. SWEEET!

My hitch arrived within a few days of placing order. Was very easy to install. Watched a very good YouTube video on the install. This is on a 2019 Equinox. The hitch is a bit lower than the one I had on a 2017 Equinox, but works with my bicycle rack fine.

My hitch is used primarily to hold my bicycle rack and is working fine after one year
I ordered and installed the 1 1/4 inch trailer hitch on my 2018 Equnox mainly to tow my 16 ft. Bass boat. I did this because I have had several cars in the past and have always used a 1 1/4 inch hitch and have never had any trouble. All of my inserts are 1 1/4 inch. Now I am reading all the specs for the hitch I installed and find that it is barely heavy enough to fit my towing needs. For the same price I could have installed a 2 inch hitch and not had the light towing restrictions. My only option is to purchase and install the heavier hitch and try to resell my present one.
The complete order was timely and as expected. Very good experience as I have always had with E trailer purchases.
The hitch is used on a fleet of cars for use as an attachment for a bicycle rack.
The tow package arrived in a timely manner and in good condition. Installation went well thanks to the videos the company provided. The only issue I had was that the muffler rattled against the hitch no matter what I did. I rechecked my installation and followed suggestions from the retailer. I ended up using a universal muffler hanger that allowed me to lower the exhaust 1/2". This solved the problem, and the hitch has performed well over the last year and still looks great. I have bought from this company before and will buy from them again in the future.
Trailer hitch was just what I needed. This is the second hitch purchased from etrailer. The first one I installed. This one I had a mechanic install as I had health issues. It works well with my bike rack. The kit was complete and easy to install. Best done with a helper to hold it in place while you get the bolts started.
I bought this hitch for a new vehicle to use with a bike rack I already owned. I bought that from you, also. When the hitch was delivered I called because the box was open. Someone stayed on the line with me while I checked to make sure nothing was missing. Great service. When my friends asked where I got my bike rack and hitch, I always tell them trailer.
Hitch was so easy to Install with the detailed instructions I got. I did it myself- with no helper! After using it for a 2-bike rack about 30 times in the past year, it’s still doing great. I use the long bolt instead of the cotter/linchpin and I have no rattle or excel movement. Very satisfied with this purchase.
Almost all hitch receivers were damaged/bent and required straightening in order to fit on the vehicles, which took a lot of time and effort to make them usable.
We the hitch also every weekend. It works great.
This is a very solid trailer hitch. It fit my 2018 Equinox perfectly and it was easy to install. It only took about 45 minutes to do the complete job and its hidden profile easily keeps the receiver away from obstructions. After one year, it's still in prime condition.
We have bought many hitches from etrailer.com and have been very satisfied. I submit an order and a few days later they are delivered. We only buy from etrailer.com because they have demonstrated to me that all of our needs are important to us and them.

We traveled to South Padre, Tx week later, everywhere we went we dragged the basket. Not recommend hit on this year of vehicle. We have recently removed the hitch, to put roof rack on top with a tray for future Tavel. The 2019 Chevy Equinox LT has very real low suspension vs the last few years prior vehicles sat hire.

We installed our new trailer hitch today. It fit perfectly on our 2020 GMC Terrain. It took just about an hour to install. This is the forth hitch we purchased from etrailer. Each time the service, price and delivery were perfect.

Still looks new, it has performed as expected.
I installed this hitch by myself yesterday and the instructions, combined with you tube videos, was adequate to complete the install. The link below is the video that was closest match to my car/model although it was useful to watch some of the others. Interestingly, I did not have to enlarge the access holes on mine, other than that it was similar to this one. I also used the jack as shown here to raise the hitch. The only reason the exhaust has to be lowered is because the hitch is wider than the gap between the two exhaust hangers. So you have to pull the facia out, get the two hanger rods out so you can slide the hitch above them.

Product is perfect for my infrequent use. The installation was exactly as described.
Excellent printable instructions and video included in your follow-up email. We used both. All parts provided even fish hooks. Installed in less than an hour. WOW, very happy with my new hitch and the time it took to install.

Still very happy with the product.
I have not installed the reciever yet. But the part broke through the box and there was paint rubbed off 3 surfaces. The 2" hitch opening has a small dent. I will have to file it and paint the bare metal.

I purchased this as part of a package which included; Hitch and wiring for my 2022 Equinox, Base plate, Tow Bar, brake System and connecting air hose, break away cables, LED tow lights with wiring harness, and a trickle charger to keep the Equinox battery from going dead while I was towing it behind my class A RV.
I had etrailer do the install of all the components on my car and RV. All the workmanship was excellent and done in the amount of time they said it would take. Also because they did not have a video of this equipment being put on this year and model vehicle, I gave them permission to make a video(which added a extra day and a half to the install)and the installation was free. Everything has worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Etrailer is my go to for anything towing and also RV parts.
This piece fit my need perfectly, I use it on our motor home, drop down to tow our Equinox and the raised up for our bike carrier. Everything is secure and the finish is still looking good and rust free.
Excellent product! Ordering was quick, easy and arrived when promised. Installation was stright forward, all holes were alined no drilling needed. It took me a bit longer than I read in other reviews; 60 minutes for me but that did include getting my tools ready and putting the Equinox on jack stands. My wife will mostly be useing this for her bike rack and small trailer towing.

Hitch is what it is. Shipping/packing was terrible. Hitch was shipped in a box with no packing. Other items were just put in the same box and took a beating during shipping. When I received it, the hitch had blown through the cardboard box in several places and the paint had chipped off in several places on the hitch. I will repaint prior to installing. Quality control in shipping warrants review.

What can I say but this was the easiest trailer hitch install I've ever done. OK, this was the third one (85 S-10 blazer, 96 Astro van, and this is the third). Our 03 Envoy (traded it in for the Equinox) and 02 2500HD (still have) both have factory hitches. It was delivered by UPS ground late afternoon and by 6:30 I had it installed. Jacked up the rear of the Equinox, placed two jack stands and followed the instructions. I will say Watch The Video for the install and it is that easy. I chose this hitch as it required no grinding or enlarging of the holes as the other hitch (Curt model). The video was spot on. I did apply some antisieze on the bolts as I always assume I will need to remove it at some future time. There was written instructions that I did look through but they matched the video. I did not use a strap to hold the exhaust as the video and the instructions showed. I used a bungy cord and adjusted it for a similar drop as a strap. I wanted to do this as I felt I may need to drop exhaust even more than the instructions as I installed this by myself. If you have an available friend it will make it easier to hold the hitch in place and start a nut on each side rather than using both hands and one leg. Working with etrailer was easy. This order was delayed by another item I had bundled together with it. The email communication from etrailer was appropriate and let me know what was going on. The delay was not a real issue as we special ordered this car and it took about 6 weeks to arrive. We keep our vehicles forever (still have the S-10 and the Astro) and I look forward to this hitch providing us years of trouble free service. I was quite impressed with the craftsmanship on this hitch, the welds were perfect. The entire hitch except where the receiver goes in is hidden behind the rear valence. Thank you etrailer!

Follow up one yesterday later, nothing to add to above review except occasionally when I am fully loaded the bottom of the receiver will drag as I go in and out of my driveway. This is because of the way the city has the curb cutfor driveways and it is abrupt. If I go out slow it doesnt it but ocasionly I will forget. When empty it doesnt do it. The hitch is sturdy enough all that has happened is paint scraped off the bottom of the receiver.
This was very easy to install!! Make sure you follow the recommendation to measure the distances to ground. I have to get an adapter for the receiver to raise 6 it six inches.

Works VERY WELL I’ve decided to just leave my n vehicle. It really helped get the chair lift up to stop it from bottoming out in low driveways!!
5 stars with a caveat, the packaging was too weak to hold the hitch and there was some cosmetic damage, I think it is functionally okay. I will let you know when it is installed.
Fit great, easy to follow instructions. I have bought half a dozen hitches & light kits over the years - every one was great! etrailer is THE place to go!
Love the hitch! It took me 2 hours to install following the how-to video. The only thing not mentioned is on the driver's side of the vehicle there are 4 holes in the frame of the vehicle and I had a bolt in the wrong place. Once I had the muffler lowered enough to get the hitch in place and start raising it up, I realized that the hole toward the front of the vehicle is not used. Now we can haul our bikes around on the back of our Terrain!
Installation took about an hour I watched YouTube vid it was very helpful I recommend 2 people installing the hitch since it was a little heavy I am pleased with this product
As always Etrailer is excellent. I was trying to get my car dealer to install a factory hitch for a bike rack. They couldn't get it in time, so I ordered the Draw-Tite Max-Frame for my 2019 Terrain Denali. I added on for faster shipping, was expected on a Friday, it arrived Thursday! Etrailer's installation videos are awesome, very thorough and detailed. Installation was easy, and now we can carry our bikes. The hitch does hang lower than the factory hitch but this is due to the factory one mounting differently, and needing to have the entire rear facia removed for installation. So far the low height is not an issue, and the new rack we bought hold the bikes more than high enough for clearance.
No-fault to etrailer The trailer hitch was excellent and it’s good product. But I blame UPS for poor shipping! The trailer hitch came with some damage to the paint as it was chipped off and rubbed off in several spots. The trailer hitch was sticking out of the box when it arrived.

Easiest install on my 2019 Chevy Equinox LT. The part is heavy, but if you have a buddy or can support it with a lift the installation is pretty easy. The video on this part page was really helpful, everything went according to plan. I didn't have an 11/16 deep socket or extensions for my 1/2" drive torque wrench, which required a couple trips to the hardware store. Otherwise, the rest was simple and straightforward.
Haven't used the hitch yet, but with a total of 6 bolts torqued to 50 ft/lbs each, I'm not concerned about my bike rack.
Watched installation video. Installation went went quite well. Two jack stands under the rear jack points to get rear tires off the ground and it was game on. Tried to get hitch up myself, but pushed a carriage bolt into the frame rail. Had to get a magnet and fish it out. Broke down and asked the wife to support one side while I bolted the other side. I impressed myself getting it done in fairly short order and my memory of the video was good after watching just once. Not bad for a 65 year old!
Fit is perfect dimensionally!
TLDR - 5 stars on customer service and response. 1 star on shipping packaging and initial product. If I could give 4.5 stars overall I would.
I have a 2019 Chevy Equinox LT that I bought about two months ago. I wanted a tow hitch installed from the dealer, but I am glad I didn't buy it from them. The dealer wanted over $500 for the hitch and install.
I did a ton of research, and it all kept leading back to etrailer.com. The website didn't show any hitches available for my year, but I did find a customer service thread talking about my SUV showing everything I needed along with part numbers.
I ordered the hitch and wiring harness, and I received a shipping email the same day. Tracking said it would take five days, but I received it in three via UPS. The package was damaged with a large hole in the middle of the box. I took pictures of the whole box before I opened it and immediately emailed customer support of etrailer. Mind you, this was on a Saturday, and I wasn't expecting a response until Monday morning.
To my surprise I received a response within 15 minutes, and also provided a direct email and phone number for use. Customer service asked for me to open the package and inspect the hitch. Unfortunately, the hitch was damaged quite a bit. I am not quite sure how this particular item could have passed any type of quality control. There were large scratches that looked like impact areas that went down to bare metal in several areas on the item. These impacts did not match the damage on the shipping box, so it was quite clear that they were from before the unit was shipped. There were also impact and drag marks that looked to have been caused during shipping that coincided with the box damage. Also, one of the holes that were to be used to mount the hitch to the SUV was not fully cut out and would have been very difficult to complete without heavy duty tools.
I took more pictures and responded to the email that I had been provided with. Within 15 minutes customer service responded that they apologized for the damaged hitch and would be providing a return shipping label and immediately shipping a new hitch. I received the shipping label almost immediately, and the shipping notification first thing on Monday morning. I received the new hitch on Thursday morning.
There was slight damage to the shipping box and to the paint on the edges of the crossbar where it looked like it may have been dropped or dragged during shipping.
Installation was extremely easy. I am lucky and have a friend that has a car lift that I can use. I followed the install video that is on the hitch webpage of etrailer. I added some anti-seize compound to the bolts just in case, and I highly recommend doing so for everyone. I also added some primer and paint onto areas that were damaged during shipping to reduce the chance of rust in the future. The hitch fit perfectly and looks great on my SUV.

Easy to install the hardware has all the things you will need to get the plate and bolts installed inside the vehicle frame. I was able to install the hitch with the vehicle on the ground. However you will need to use an extra long receiver a standard receiver will not work on this vehicle. If you are planning on towing a trailer. etrailer sell a nice bike rack as shown in one of the pictures

Items purchased, Draw-tite trailer hitch and Tekonsha wiring kit for our 2020 Equinox. This was my first encounter with etrailer, and I must say I was impressed. From the initial order placement, I knew where my order was while in route and exactly when it would arrive. I had previously watched the installation videos on both products and they could not have been clearer. Total time from opening boxes, to tools put away was less than 2 hours. All parts are of quality materials and fitment along with reasonable prices. While this may have been my first experience with etrailer, it certainly will not be my last.
