I have a solution for you, but the Thule Roof Basket #TH859XT isn't going to be the best option. Additionally, most manufacturers do not recommend attaching anything to the cargo basket-and it's really not possible because of the small size of the bars that are used on the bottoms of the baskets.

It can even be used for fishing poles when not being used for skis or snowboards. The carrier has a weight capacity of 79 lbs, and will fit square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars.
