It's not necessary to use a lift to install a hitch on your Forester, but if you have or can borrow ramps or jack stands from somebody, it will make the installation much easier. If that's not an option, we offer some fairly inexpensive ramps as part # FT11909MI or jack stands as part # PTW41021.
Either the Curt # C12038 or the Draw-Tite # 36311 would work fine for you. They install in the same manner, and have identical capacities. Both install with standard metric wrenches or sockets... view full answer...
We have 3 Class III hitches available for the 2010 Subaru Forester Limited, see link. Of the three options we offer, I would recommend the Curt Class III Custom Fit Receiver Hitch, item # 13147, which is the most economical hitch. All of the hitches for your vehicle install similarly and use the same attachment points, so they all will perform the same. The towing capacity of your vehicle is less than the towing capacity of any of the 2 inch hitches offered for it, so you will need to check... view full answer...
The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers part # ETBC7 will come with everything that is required to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 on your 2017 Subaru Forester with an existing 4-way trailer connector. If you leave the trailer connected to the tow vehicle and have circuits powered from the 12 volt pin on the 7-way or have it hooked to an auxiliary battery then there is a chance that this could then kill the vehicle's battery. Therefore,... view full answer...
You'd want to use a ratchet strap like the part # Q54FR to secure a propane tank to the Yakima SkinnyWarrior # Y07014.
Just to be safe I'd also use the cargo net part # Y07018 over the straps and carrier as well. This net was designed for the SkinnyWarrior as well. view full answer...
I have a great solution for you. Unfortunately, I confirmed with Thule that the AeroBlades TH7502B-TH7503B have not yet been tested on a Wilderness model of a 2022 Subaru Forester. For that reason, it is impossible to determine with certainty if they work on your raised rails of your vehicle.
However, with that being said, Rhino-Rack offers a great roof rack that definitely fits your Wilderness model with raised rails. That is the Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar # JA7973
With this system,... view full answer...
When using a Malone Megasport Kayak Trailer like # MPG535, you need kayak carriers that can fit around the 1-1/4" square Malone crossbars without T-Tracks. It is possible that your Thule saddles are t-track mounted or its clamps are incompatible with square bars.
Some Malone MegaSport trailer owners like to go with other Malone products. The Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier # MPG107MD is a popular option due to its wing-style design that allows you to take full use of the long crossbar space... view full answer...
We do indeed have hitches for the 2015 Subaru Legacy in both the 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch receiver size from Draw-Tite or Curt Manufacturing.
Whenever the option for a Class III hitch is available, I recommend going that route as there's a much better selection of hitch mounted accessories available for the more common 2 inch receiver.
Curt makes a great product, but their warranty requirements for their Class III hitch, part #
13390 stipulate that a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 be... view full answer...
The Class III hitch we offer for the 2017 that would sit up the highest on the vehicle would be the 2017 Subaru Forester would be the Draw-Tite # 76182 which would have a 16 inch hitch height, measured from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube, this is what I'd recommend hitch-wise.
The Yakima # Y08107 Rack and Roll trailer would be a great choice for carrying your Canoe and fishing kayak, it would easily handle the approximate 175 lb combined weight of your canoe and... view full answer...
Yes, a 2009 Subaru Forester can tow the Yakima EasyRider Double Decker Trailer part # Y08129 without issue as it is very lightweight, only 175 lbs which then leaves you with plenty of capacity for your tent and other cargo. In regards to loading, both the upper and lower deck can be used so there would be no issue using a cargo basket/tray on the lower deck and a roof top tent on the upper deck. In fact, when Yakima presented the trailer to us that is that exact same configuration they... view full answer...
The most concealed trailer hitch that fits your 2018 Subaru Forester 2.5 touring would be the Curt # CU64FR which only has the hitch opening hanging below the rear bumper. The price is available at the link below. It would take right at 1.5 hours to install for a shop to do so you'd need to know their shop rate to determine what they'd charge most likely. view full answer...
Yes we do! We have the EcoHitch part # 306-X7391 which is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Subaru Forester. This hitch has only the hitch opening that hangs below the rear bumper so it's mostly out of plainsight. Check out the install video link and picture I attached as well.
If you are in need of trailer wiring as well the Curt kit part # C56040 installs very easily and comes with a very reliable converter box so it will last you a long time. view full answer...
The Curt hitch part # C13409 has been carried over as a fit for the 2020 Subaru Forester as well as the EcoHitch part # 306-X7391 so realistically the Draw Tite part # 76271 would also carry over although Draw Tite hasn't officially carried it over. view full answer...
I do have an option for you but the Saris SuperClamp EX 4 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4026F won't work on a fifth wheel trailer. The only way you'd be able to carry four bikes on the back of a fifth wheel trailer is with a hanging style bike rack, the Yakima LongHaul 4 Bike RV Rack part # Y02476 is what I recommend. view full answer...
The Expert Question page you're referring was actually out dated. The previous installation details of the Curt # C13144 and Draw-Tite # 75876 (Previously Hidden Hitch # 87654) have been updated.
The updated installation details state the heat shield should be removed when installing the Curt and trimmed for the Draw-Tite. The change is likely due to something that wasn't known originally or a slight difference in the Forester for the later model years. view full answer...
Staying within budget constraints can be tricky, but I have a bike hitch rack that will meet your needs. I recommend the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part # HR8500. This rack will work with 1 1/4" or 2" hitch receivers. It tilts away from the vehicle so you can have access to the trunk/hatch of your vehicle. It has anti-sway cradles to keep your bike from moving while using the rack.
To lock your rack to the vehicle and your bikes to the rack you... view full answer...
I ave a couple of solutions but the Class I hitches are all rated for only 2 bikes. Of the solutions my favorite is to remove the Class I and add a Class 3 hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13409. You can then use the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR.
The other option would be to use the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR and adding two roof mounted bike racks like the Thule ProRide XT Roof Bike Rack part # TH598004. Which will get you to 4 bikes.

To carry a womans bike frame with a hanging bike rack like the Thule Passage part # TH910XT you referenced you'd want a bike frame adapter bar like the part # UB01 which attaches to the seat post and steering stem to give you a horizontal attachment point for the rack to attach to. I attached a picture of this adapter in use as well as a review video for you to check out as well.
The price is available at the attached product link on this page. view full answer...
The recommended ball mount for your 2010 Subaru Forester is the Ball Mount # D-4, this is what I would recommend you get also. The Extra Long Ball Mount # BM20 that you referenced would most likely not be necessary, unless you have the need for a very long ball mount. You'll also need the Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3.
Whichever ball mount you choose you should always stay under the towing capacities of the lowest rated component in your towing setup and go with the lowest rated component... view full answer...
You cannot use any trunk mount bike rack and still have use of the rear wiper on your 2016 Subaru Forester with the bike rack installed but I do have a sure fire way that you can carry bikes and still use the rear wiper.
I recommend a trailer hitch and hitch-mounted bike rack. This will keep the bike rack and bikes off of the vehicle so neither will scratch or mar the paint on your newer Forester. You can use Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 36523. This is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4 inch... view full answer...
