The Econo Porch Trailer Step part # EHS-102-R would work well for you as long as the overall height of the steps match what you would need. The third step will be 21 inches off of the ground so you would need to compare that to the steps of your future RV to know how the steps would match up.

We have electric retracting/extending RV steps for fifth wheels like with the Kwikee RV Step Assembly part # LC375821. The steps are 30 inches wide and the mounting bracket is designed to bolt on. For a narrower step setup we have the part # LC3694042 which is 24 inches wide. You'd need to measure the step area on your RV to see which size you'd need. The great thing about the Lippert Component RV steps # LC432682 is that they are designed to fit the standard RV step brackets found on most RVs like your 2015 Jayco 23RB. If your current steps are double steps like this most likely the brackets are the correct dimension at 25-1/2 inch.

There is not really a recommended location for the top step of an RV ladder such as the Surco Universal Exterior RV Ladder # SP501L. Where this top step ends up being will depend a lot on the roof design and how the ladder is able to mount. Ultimately it is going to be a question of personal comfort/usability as to how far below the roof you want the step to be.

From the ground to the top of the platform on the Econo Porch Trailer Step with Handrail # EHS-103-R measures 27-1/2 inches. While I don't know exactly what the distance from the ground to the door threshold is on your 2016 Forest River Cardinal you can use a tape measure to verify that height to determine if this would work well. Most RVs with quadruple steps have a doorway height right at around 30 inches so this should be a really great height for your RV!

The how to measure height is rather straight forward and you do not need to be concerned about exact measurement. With your RV situated on a level setting and arranged the way you would typically have it when in use, measure the height from ground to the threshold. If your measurement is between 35" and 44" then you will want the four step model. Manual RV steps # SMFP-4400 could work for you. This is a 4-step unit that is 28-1/8 inches wide overall and 12 inches deep (front to back) and 18-1/2 inches tall. The Flexco Manual Pull-Out Step for RVs - Single - 7-1/2" Drop/Rise - 24" Wide - 350 lbs # SMFP-1100 cannot be added to an existing 2 step system. You would need to replace the 2 step system with a 3 step to gain that additional step.
