One option is to relocate the propane tank tray. A lot of times the trays are attached to the A-frame with self tapping screws. You could remove the screws and move the tray front/back as needed. There is not any kind of adapter that is made for this purpose and you will have to connect the frame brackets 20-25 inches back from the center of the ball if you want to use a Blue Ox WD hitch like the # BLU75FR.

The photo you are referring to, which I have added, is actually correct. The left side of the diagram is simply the face of a vehicle-end 7-way. The right side of the diagram is what you would see if you pulled the connector out, turned it around and looked inside. That is why the functions (Brake Controller Output, Ground) are on the opposite sides.

From my research it looks like the GVWR of the 2018 Forest River Work and Play you were referring to is 11,300 lbs so the GVWR of the trailer and golf cart you wanted to haul would need to be less than 1,200 lbs (due to the 12,500 lb towing capacity of your truck).

I confirmed with Curt that the Curt Front Mount Hitch - 2" # C31069 does not have a specific class rating. However, based on its 500 pound tongue weight capacity and a 5,000 pound gross trailer weight capacity, it would fall between the class II and class III weight ratings of a rear hitch.
