Can Trailer Tow a Trailer With Golf Car
Question:
Hello there, We have a 2018 GMC Sierra w max tow package, 4x4, long bed and a 6.2 litre V8. Looking at a 2018 Forest River Work and Play toy hauler w a UVW of 7800 pounds and a hitch weight of 1100. We have a weight diet as well for our current rv. Our hitch states its rated for 1500 pounds, truck is rated to tow up to 12,500 per GMC website. Wed like to add a 1000 pound golf cart in the back of the toy hauler to trailer as well. We seem to be getting all kinds of different answers and are a bit overwhelmed now, to say the least. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much,

From my research it looks like the GVWR of the 2018 Forest River Work and Play you were referring to is 11,300 lbs so the GVWR of the trailer and golf cart you wanted to haul would need to be less than 1,200 lbs (due to the 12,500 lb towing capacity of your truck).
That seems unlikely, and you would also need to stay within the tongue weight rating of no more than 1,500 lbs, which is something you would only be able to find out once the trailer(s) are fully loaded either by using a scale such as the etrailer # e99044 or by using one of the methods outlined in the help article on determining tongue weight I've linked for you.
So, you likely won't be able to do what you are wanting, and also need to keep in mind that double towing is potentially dangerous and may not be legal depending on where you are, so you'd need to check with your local DMV concerning those laws if you have not already.
