It is possible to have the SUV hatch closed with the Rightline CampRight SUV Tent, # RL110907, connected. However, it would be best to have the tent disconnected from the vehicle if you are going to have the hatch down because it was designed so that you can separate the tent from the vehicle. I haven't used the SUV Tent # RL110907 I personally own a different Rightline Gear tent that is the same material and haven't had any issues with the zippers breaking. They do have a tendency to get stuck on the material that is to keep the rain out but if you're careful it can be avoided.

In order to use the Rightline Truck Bed Tent # RL110765 in your 2019 Toyota Tacoma's 5 foot bed, you will need to remove your tonneau cover. The reason for that is the tent won't be able to securely install while the cover is folded up as there would be interference with your tonneau cover.

You will not need to seal the seams of the Rightline Gear SUV Tent # RL110907 because these are tape-sealed when manufactured. The tent floor has taped seams to block moisture too.

Per the installation instructions, a roof rack is not necessary to attach the Rightline Gear SUV tent to your RDX.
Longer straps are included that can be used to pass over the top of the vehicle and ultimately attach to the windshield wiper arms. The tent also attaches to the edges of the rear wheel wells, and other straps attach to whatever points are available in the cargo area.
