To access the battery in your 2016 Prius, you will need to remove the seat portion of the passenger side rear seat. This should expose your battery. Next, you will simply remove the passenger side trim in the rear of the vehicle and run the power wire of your Upgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite with 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit, # C59496 behind that molding on the passenger side from the rear light to the back seat and make your connection to the battery. Make sure your in-line fuse... view full answer...
I would tell them they could do it and not to bother with spending money to go to a mechanic or the dealer. Do you have a measuring tape of some sort? If so, that's it regarding the needed tools to install the Yakima rack on your 2013 Toyota Prius. So no tools are needed, it's light as a feather, and all you have to do is some measuring to get it installed.
I am 1000% confident this is something you can do on on your own in about 30 minutes without any assistance. The correct fit for the... view full answer...
Yes, according to my contact at WeatherTech their Floor Mats for the 2007 Toyota Prius # WT450851 does indeed have on the drivers-side mat grommets that will grab onto the hooks on the carpeted floor of your Prius. Sometimes the photos we show on our site may not reveal all construction details of the product. view full answer...
You do not have to have a lift, our installers have the luxury of having one which does make installation and filming easier. If you have a jack and jacks stands at home, that will make it easier than just trying to do it with the car on the ground. I have included a link to the installation instructions that will show you the torque ratings for the bolts.
The approved ball mount for the hitch is # 3593 and for a pin and clip use # PC2. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256. For a 2 inch use... view full answer...
The 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit - Includes Testers, # C59496, is designed for use on hundreds of different vehicles so specific directions are not available. There are some installation instructions for this kit linked below. Vehicle wiring colors change often between manufacturers and even between model years of the same vehicle. The kit includes a circuit tester that will help determine which wires in the vehicle's taillight wiring harness carry which taillight function.
On the harness,... view full answer...
The Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack part # Y02634 is a confirmed fit for a 2013 Toyota Prius and an excellent option. That said, you can't open the truck/hatch with a trunk mount bike rack installed on any vehicle because you risk the two coming into contact and causing damage and the shocks that hold the trunk/hatch open aren't designed for the extra weight of the bike rack.
If you want to be able to open the truck/hatch without having to take off the bike rack then you will need to go with... view full answer...
The hitch you need for your Toyota Prius depends on the style of Prius you own. I would first recommend checking either with your owner's manual or with your dealership to find what the towing and tongue weight capacity is for your vehicle.
For the Prius or Prius Plug-In Hybrid, I would recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11276. This is a Class l hitch with a 1-1/4 in receiver. It has a towing capacity of 2000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs.
The installation... view full answer...
Apparently on a 2011 Toyota Prius, the battery is located in the rear cargo area. it is underneath the floor covering in the rear corner of the cargo area. Take a look at the installation details for the Tow Ready Wiring Harness, # 118505, which shows the battery location. view full answer...
As far as a video or other media showing installation of the power wire on a harness such as # 118701 for your 2017 Toyota Prius we do not have any specifics. They are all generally the same though so you can follow the tips in the routing the power wire FAQ I have linked for you. Between it and the instructions I have also linked I am sure you will be able to tackle this project, no problem. view full answer...
The correct trailer hitch you will want to use on your 2018 Toyota Prius is the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24966. This trailer hitch is a custom fit for your Prius and uses pre drilled holes in the frame. The installation process is rated at a level 10 taking on average around two hours. The process is not difficult by any means, it is just time consuming as you have to remove the rear lower bumper fascia.
If you are handy and have some free time then I see no reason... view full answer...
It sounds like you are having some trouble mounting the EcoHitch # 306-X7196 on your 2007 Toyota Prius. I completely understand your frustration but I can assure you that this particular model hitch does fit your vehicle, it's just that the brackets most likely flexed a bit during shipping.
I realize this sounds a bit odd, and obviously using some tools to bend back a brand new item you just received isn't the most welcomed item to have to add to your to-do list, but the flex the hitch... view full answer...
I checked out a 2007 Prius we have here in our lot and I also did not see indents on it so it appears some vehicles do not have them unless both of us are missing something. What you can do is measure from the center of the B-pillar (the vertical metal piece that separates the front door and window from the rear door and window) forward 9-7/8 inches. That is where the center of the front bar should be. Then from the center of that bar, once placed, measure back 27-1/2 inches and that is... view full answer...
The Kuat bike rack shank adapter # D101 is held on to the bike rack shank using 2 allen head screws. You would just need the appropriate size allen wrench to unscrew them from the shank and then you can take the adapter off and use the bike rack in a 1-1/4 inch receiver. view full answer...
CURT Class I, II, and some Class III trailer hitches do require the use of stabilizing strap # 18050 on all non-trailer loads to be in compliance with the CURT warranty. A non-trailer load would include a cargo carrier, so you would need to use the strap.
One end of the strap would be secured to the cargo carrier, the other end has a rubber coated hook. This hook can be placed in the gap between the trunk lid or hatch and the body of the vehicle on a Toyota Prius. The purpose of the strap... view full answer...
Raising your 2017 Toyota Prius off the ground is not going to be necessary to install the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24966. I have linked a video below which does show the installation process and you can see how difficult some of the fasteners are to reach so it will make it easier to access if you are able to raise the rear of your car. Rather than using jack stands you can use Ramps # FT11909MI as then you will only need to back your car onto the ramps rather than... view full answer...
For your 2017 Toyota Prius with Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack, # Y02634, the attached instructions show you how to convert the hooks to anchors. The anchors are made by essentially feeding the strap back through a slot in the hook to allow the entire hook to remain inside the hatch as an anchor. I've attached a picture to assist as well. view full answer...
We haven't had anyone complain that leaving their Rhino Rack Nautic 581 # RR581 mounted on their roof rack caused any issues from the heat and sun but Yakima had a similar carrier that the rubber pad would get really soft and start to deteriorate over time so I wouldn't leave these on indefinitely. How often they should be removed is really based on how often you will be using them. If you're going to be using them quite a bit it would make sense to just leave them on but if you aren't... view full answer...
If it was my vehicle I would just leave the appearance panel off of the 2006 Toyota Prius after installing the # 24808. Like the mechanic said, it's not going to affect mileage or corrosion or anything so it wouldn't be worth it to me to put back on.
That being said, if you have the panel and want to reinstall it you certainly could by trimming it. We don't have a template but we do have a drawing I took from the install instructions that I attached to this page. view full answer...
Yes. As long as you can fit the 4 way flat connector through the grommet, that will be possible. To mount the connector I recommend that you use a mounting bracket to give the installation a cleaner look.
If you've got a Draw-Tite Hitch like # 24966 you can use the Mounting Bracket for 4 Flat # 18144 or if you have a Curt Hitch like the # C11473 you can use the Curt Easy Mount # C58002 . view full answer...
It sounds like you are having trouble either with step 2 or step 6 in the installation instructions of the Tekonsha T-One # 118505 on your 2017 Toyota Prius. You will find the connector for step 2 inside the vehicle behind one of the side panels (picture C) while the connector for step 6 is located under the Prius on the driver's side (picture E).
If you are unable to disconnect those connectors then I would either let a second pair of hands give it a try or take your vehicle to a shop.... view full answer...
