Is a Vehicle Lift Required to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Toyota Prius
Question:
I have a 2011 Prius. Do you have to have a lift to self install a draw tight hitch or can I install the hitch with car on the ground. I see the video and it shows installer having to tilt the hitch to slide in the hole of the plastic under carriage. Also, what is the recommend torque on the bolts.

You do not have to have a lift, our installers have the luxury of having one which does make installation and filming easier. If you have a jack and jacks stands at home, that will make it easier than just trying to do it with the car on the ground. I have included a link to the installation instructions that will show you the torque ratings for the bolts.
The approved ball mount for the hitch is # 3593 and for a pin and clip use # PC2. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256. For a 2 inch use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 118505 if you need to power something with lights. Video and instructions linked.
