You are correct. If you don't have brakes on your trailer then you can just use the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 as an adapter and then only connect the 12V power to the battery on your 2018 Jeep Compass to help maintain your battery level. I do recommend routing the brake controller wire from the 7-Way at least up to the engine compartment though since this is duplex wiring. This will make it easier to install a brake controller if you need to do so in the future.

The Draw-Tite # 36598 will install onto a 2021 Jeep Compass without modification to the rear bumper or fascia. You will need to remove some caulk from the frame and bend the exhaust hanger brackets a little to get it to fit, however. We do have this hitch in a 2 inch version as well. If you can get the exhaust to sit in its original location after installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13363 on your 2018 Jeep Compass then that is what I recommend doing.
Sometimes after installing a trailer hitch the exhaust cannot be reinstalled in the same location without touching the trailer hitch. Because of the way the muffler sits transversely behind the rear bumper, it's not possible to install a hitch on a 2nd generation Compass without temporarily dropping the exhaust. The exhaust tips and muffler will prevent you from accessing the frame mounting points on the passenger side.

The Hopkins 4-way connector, part # HM48205, uses white for ground, brown for the running lights, green for right side (passenger) turn signals and brake lights, and yellow for left side (driver) turn signals and brake lights. My technical contact at Kat's Heaters confirmed that their Cartridge Style Engine Block Heater # KH11812 will install in your 2011 Jeep Compass 2.0L in a port located on the front/driver's side of the block. This heater does not require you to remove a frost plug since it installs into the cavity in the side of the block. From what I could find there should only be one of the plug that has wires leading to the body of your 2014 Jeep Compass. This is the plug that you will connect the T-One # 118539 tees to.
