At this time I do not have a trailer hitch that is a fit for the BMW 3 Series convertible. The hitches we have are all Class I hitches and will only fit the BMW 328i Sedan, the 328xi Sedan and the 328 Sport Wagon.
The reason there are no 2 inch hitches available for the BMW 3 series is that hitches with 2 inch openings are reserved for vehicles with higher towing capacities than what the BMW 3 Series is rated for.

I have a solution for you, however the Thule OutWay 2 bike rack # TH45JV is not a fit for your 2012 BMW 335i Convertible. A compatible trunk mount bike rack that I recommend is the Thule Passage # TH910XT. It is confirmed to fit and has a similar design to the OutWay. It has the No-Sway cages and 2 layers of cushioning to absorb vibration from bumps in the road.
