The Curt Class I Hitch # C11367 that you referenced does indeed fit the 2014 BMW 328d sedan as long as the vehicle has a single muffler. Installation will require temporary removal of the bumper and heat shield. This light-duty hitch will bolt on using included hardware and the only specialized tool needed is a torque wrench.
If you intend to use a bike rack with it, please note that only 2 bikes can be carried on a Class I hitch. Please refer to the linked article on hitch classes. You need to choose a Class I bike rack to ensure compatibility; a link is provided to show you all Class I racks. If you intend to use a cargo carrier, again you need to choose a Class I carrier like one of those shown on the other link.
If towing is in your plans you'll want to check your 328d owner's manual to confirm the vehicles approved capacity. You'll want to check the tongue weight and towing capacities; sometimes a vehicle may be rated lower than the hitch that is made for it. When this happens the lower-rated item determines the overall limit. With this hitch you will use ball mount # C45521 and the hitch ball of the size needed by your trailer coupler. A link is provided to our page for Class I hitch balls. A wiring harness for trailer lights can be obtained from your BMW dealership.
