When you install the Polar Heavy Duty Cam Action Door Lock # PLR258-002 You basically will want to mock it up on the trailer in the position you need it and then mark those locations so that when you permanently mount everything it all fits together well. If you are asking about the appropriate distance between the cams at the bottom of the pole and the pipe mounting brackets that really just depends on the setup. There isn't an exact distance required there. But I would try to get it as... view full answer...
To know if you'll be able to clear the Let's Go Aero BossHog, part # H01472, with the rear door of the 2012 FJ Cruiser, you'll need to measure the length of the rear door and how far off the hitch the door sits. The primary contact point you'll want to worry about is the sides of the carrier, which are 7 inches tall. You'll want to measure from the bottom of the door to the top of your trailer hitch. If you have more than 7 inches, you'll clear the carrier easily and then also know how... view full answer...

You can use this same measurement to determine what other racks you can use, looking for their "hinge box", "Arm height" or any similar measurement.

I checked with the manufacturer, Polar, about the Ramp Door Hinge part # PLR1902 and they unfortunately do not list a weight capacity as much of this would come down to how it's installed, the number used, and the quality of the welding. That said, it has a heavy duty 1/4" pin and it's designed for larger trailer ramp doors so if installed properly it can support a lot of weight. view full answer...
