So I checked out the weight capacity section of the Blue Ox base plate kit part # BX1682 that fits your 2002 Chevy Tahoe and the wording is a little tricky, but what they are actually referring to with the 5,000 lb weight capacity is the tow bar it's used with. I went out to our warehouse and took some useful measurements of the Lippert 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # LC240220 for you. The side brackets on the hitch are 8" long x 4" wide. The distance from the bottom edge of the bracket to the top of the receiver tube collar is right at 2-3/4". Therefore in order to make above hitch work for you, you would need to trim the bottom of the bracket about 1/4". view full answer...

A vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating, or GVWR, is the maximum weight the vehicle can weigh when it's fully loaded, not including a trailer. Basically, you should never put enough stuff inside the Tahoe (including people, gas, and everything else) to make it weigh more than 7,100 pounds.
You may also see your GCWR, or gross combined weight rating. This is the total amount of weight the Tahoe can move, including if it's loaded to 7,100 plus the maximum weight of a trailer it can pull.

Good question, Clay. This is something we get asked every now and then and can be a concern with this style of suspension enhancement. That being said, the air bags (which have a diameter of 5.1") in the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59518 will typically extend/compress between 4.5" to 7". However, they can be compressed to a maximum of 3.1" and can extend to a maximum of 7.34". We have suspension enhancement that will help beef up the rear suspension of your 2003 Chevy Tahoe but nothing will give you more towing capacity than you have so you'll want to make sure you don't exceed your towing capacity. Selecting the correct ball mount (or weight distribution shank) in order to keep your towed trailer level is important since level trailers tow much better. I linked a helpful article that explains how to measure to find the ball mount/shank with the correct amount of drop.

As far as the first question, I confirmed with Westin that the Westin Fey Diamondstep Rear Bumper with Custom Installation Kit # 20008-92230 will not fit your 1999 Chevy Tahoe. I also confirmed that the Diamonstep Rear Bumper would not fit a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 and a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500. Generally, manufacturers have to change minute details of the mounting brackets and hardware to fit specific years/makes/models of vehicles.

You don't necessarily need to have a dually truck for towing your 13K-lb combined boat and trailer weight but naturally you do want to ensure your vehicle has at least some safety margin in its towing capacity relative to the loaded trailer weight. For a 5th wheel RV type trailer that has a high pin weight resting in the bed a dually setup can be preferred but most boat trailers do not put that much tongue weight on the vehicle, especially if it is a power boat that tends to be rear-heavy.

A typical 4.80/4.00-8 tire like # AM10002 will have a tread width of about 5.7 inches. Two load range B tires in that size would have a combined load rating of 1180 lbs. A load range C tire in 5.70-8 like # AM10012 would have a section width of 5.9 inches and a combined load rating of 1820 per 2 tires. Both tires are compatible with an 8 x 3-3/4 inch rim. The 5.70-8 tire is about 2 inches larger in diameter, which would make the trailer sit right at 1 inch taller that it currently does.
