  • Replacement Options For An Atwood GCH10A-4E RV Water Heater
  • The only non-tankless model that we currently offer is the Dometic RV Water Heater # DMC74FR. This heater is a bit smaller and only comes with a 6 gallon tank so it's a bit less than what you're looking for. The Atwood line has pretty much been phased out by Dometic so I recommend checking with them directly to see if they have a similar Dometic branded 10 gallon unit to replace the GCH10A-4E.

  • Is There a Tankless Water Heater for RVs More Reliable than Furrion
  • Hey Michael, that's interesting to hear as our experience with the tankless water heaters is that the Furrion ones are the most reliable ones we offer. I wouldn't recommend any of the other ones over what you have in good faith. Did he have a recommendation for a brand that he thought was more reliable?

  • Recommended Water Tank Heater For A 13 Gallon Flat Water Tank
  • Good morning and thank you for your question. I recommend for you the Therma Heat RV Holding Tank Heater Pad # 277-000164. This is a 18-1/4" long x 12" wide heater pad so you will want to make sure your tank has adequate surface area. There is also a 25" Long x 7-1/4" Wide pad available # 277-000163 if that will be a better fit. The best thing about this pad is the built in thermostat that automatically operates the pad. It will only come on when the temperature drops below 45 degrees....

  • Is There An Adapter Plate To Cover Gaps Left When Replacing An Atwood RV Water Heater
  • Hey Matthew, We don't offer the Suburban brand so I'm unsure if they offer an adapter to cover up the gap left from your Atwood Water Heater. I typically recommend Furrion because their tankless water heater is one of the best options on the market and they have multiple door sizes to cover up gaps. To put it in perspective the SW6DEL maxes out around 16 gallons of hot water per hour, whereas the # FR93FR can produce up to 144 gallons of hot water per hour. If you want to switch to a Furrion...

  • Troubleshooting an Excel Water Heater that Won't Ignite
  • Shelly, I recommend that you make sure your water is flowing / is able to flow. If the water is pressure and flow is insufficient then it will not ignite.

  • Do Fogatti Tankless Water Heaters Come With Trim Kits To Cover Larger Holes
  • Hey Rodney, The Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB44FR unfortunately does not come with a trim kit to fill in the excess gap left behind from an old larger Atwood model. Instead I recommend going with a Furrion unit for a larger door and better quality performance. Furrion's units come with the following door sizes: 16" x 16" # FR98SR 16" x 18" # FR48SR 18" x 18" # FR68SR I've attached a video below where Jake had to fill in the gap from a larger unit to help give you a better...

  • Best Atwood G6A-8E-SP Water Heater Replacement
  • Great to hear from you again, John! I'm a sucker for the tankless water heaters simply because they have a higher performance than the older tank-style water heaters so I definitely recommend going tankless. Just to give you an idea of the performance, the 60,000 Btu unit from Furrion is able to produce 144 gallons of hot water an hour without having to wait for a tank to fill up and heat up to get your hot water. The Furrion system is the best way to go and for that we have a few different...

  • Do Weight Distribution Hitches Add To The Tongue Weight
  • Hey John, With weight distribution hitches we actually don't include the weight of the hitch itself into the tongue weight on the hitch because it's leveraging the weight through the frame to distribute it to the front axle. It's best to stay under 80-85% of your towing capacity to give yourself a buffer so upgrading the tow vehicle to something with a higher capacity might be the safest option depending on how heavy the trailer is once fully loaded. If upgrading to a higher capacity...

  • Determining The Right Power Distribution Center For A DIY Camper Van
  • Hi Anna, Finding the right fit for your motorhome is going to depend on a few factors. The first being space, power centers do range in size but most are quite large if your motorhome is a Class B. The next thing to determine is how many circuit breaker and fuse ports are going to be needed to power the equipment you have. Along with that you'll also need to size the converter amperage to the battery bank and take special notice of any requirements for the batteries since you mentioned...

  • Recommended Rugged Waste Valve for an RV
  • Hey Tav, the most "rugged" waste valve we have is going to be the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank # T40B. Valterra makes pretty good quality and durable products, so I'd recommend sticking with them.

  • Recommended Cover for a 2013 Open Range 297RLS 5th Wheel Trailer
  • Yes, we do! For your 2013 Open Range 297RLS 5th wheel trailer you'll want the Adco Olefin HD RV Cover for 5th Wheel Toy Haulers up to 34' Long item # AD49ZR. The Olefin HD fabric works best for repelling water, and protecting against mold or mildew as the fabric is able to still breath. This cover is designed to work well for long term storage. The Adco item # AD49ZR also has zippered panels so you can access the inside of your trailer without having to remove the cover while it's in...

  • Will The Phoenix Faucets RV Shower Valve with Brass Fittings Replace the Plastic Fitting Version?
  • The Phoenix Faucets RV Shower Valve with Brass Fittings # PF213321 is a much better option than the Plastic Fittings # PF223242. With the issues the one person was having it makes me think there is something else going on that being the real reason they had to keep replacing the cartridge. It could have been very harsh water and they weren't using an inline filter or it may have been damaged but that is not something we have regularly seen.

  • Brake and Hub/Drum Recommendations for a 2K Axle on a Boat Trailer
  • To install the Brake Mounting Flange # 4-34 on your 2,000 lb axle you'll need to have an experienced welder/trailer shop do the installation for you as they would know the best placement for the flange. We don't do that kind of installation so I don't have any info regarding the placement of the flange. You can definitely get a new axle with a flange pre-installed but that's something you'll need to talk with a trailer shop about as the dimensions you took aren't standard. I also recommend...
