It is possible to remove the module from your 2015 BMW X5 and move it to another vehicle. The programming is a service that Stealth Hitch offers, and they can do everything remotely. I am afraid that right now (March 2024) Tekonsha only makes one plug-and-play brake controller harness for the 2024 BMW X5, and that is the # TK29FR which is 19-1/2' long. In previous model years, the port was located in the rear cargo area. I believe starting with some 2024 models the port is now under the dash, so this is a pretty recent change.
