Expert Answers about Kia Boat Trailer Wheels

  • Spare Tire For Boat Trailer With 5 on 4-1/2" Wheel Bolt & 195/55R15 Tires
  • Hey Jeff, The reason the selection seems limited is because you have passenger tires on your boat trailer as there aren't 195/55R15 sized trailer tires. So there isn't a trailer tire and wheel you can get that's going to be the same size. A 195/55R15 tire measures 23.4" in diameter and 7.7" wide, and the closest size to that in a trailer tire is a 24" diameter, 6.9" wide, ST175/80R13 size tire. So you can go with that for a spare in a pinch, or replace all your tires and wheels with that...

  • Do You Have a Replacement Wheel Hub For a Discontinued Harbor Freight Boat Trailer?
  • Unfortunately Tim, I have no way to know for sure what size spindle you have on your discontinued Harbor Freight boat trailer. If you can provide me with the measurements off your spindle as seen in the image below I can see if we have a hub which will fit but as is most common with Harbor Freight trailers I have seen you are most likely going to need 2 new Spindles # TRU64FR and Hubs # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K.

  • Spare Wheel and Tire for Boat Trailer With 4.80-12
  • Since you have 4.80-12 tires those must be 12" wheels. I'm sure you measured the overall wheel diameter and not the aactual diameter which is measured between the bead seats. That would explain your 13" measurement. For 4.80-12 tires with a wheel that has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern we have the following: -Loadstar 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM30670 -Kenda 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range...

  • How To Measure For Replacement Wheels For A Boat Trailer
  • Hey Gordon, If the sidewall of the tire says ST205/75R14 then you should have a 14" diameter wheel. The # AM20447 you were looking is a 15" wheel so you'd want to stick with a 14" wheel unless you have to clearance to increase the sizing. The wheel diameter is measured from bead to bead. I'd also check your wheel bolt pattern just to ensure you don't get the new wheel and find it doesn't match up to the stud pattern of the hub. I've attached a pic below showing how to measure. If you...

  • Replacement Trailer Hub for Boat Trailer with Timken Bearings 07100
  • Based on the bearing dimensions that you have you have a 2,000 lb trailer axle so for a replacement hub the part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K would work. This has a 5 lug bolt pattern. If instead you have a 4 bolt pattern you'd need the part # CE13110.

  • Option to Replace 245/75R16 Trailer Tire & Wheel With 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern For Boat Trailer
  • Hey Mark, thanks for the question and we do have an option for you, though not the exact LT245/75R16 M+S Radial XTX. Reason for that is those are light truck tires and not trailer tires (light truck tires will have an "LT" before the tire size and trailer tires have an "ST" before the size). That said, we have a very close option in size, with a ST235/80R16 trailer tire. These are 30.8" in diameter and 9.25" wide, so they will only add about 1/8" of height at the top of the tire and are...

  • What Size Trailer Wheel/Tire has Bolt Pattern 5 on 4-3/4 inch Available
  • The only size wheels we have with a 5 on 4-3/4 inch bolt pattern is the 15 inch wheel size like with the part # KE79JR which has the tire size ST205/75R15 mounted on it.

  • Spare Wheel And Tire For a Boat Trailer With Solid White Wheel and 5.3-12" Tire
  • Well Joe, your tires are likely not speed rated but I am a little confused by the numbers you gave me. Tires without a speed rating are typically only good for 55mph. I know the K-353 is likely the Kenda 353 series tire but the w-12-106 are confusing as there is no way w is the speed rating as that would be 168mph and the 106(2,094lbs) while being a weight rating would be more than I see Kenda rates this size tire. You might check the trailer frame to verify what size and weight capacity...

  • Heavy Duty Equalizer Kit With Wet Bolts and Shackles For 2018 Nitro Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
  • Scott, I wish I had a way to look up the parts for your 2018 Nitro Boat trailer but unfortunately the parts breakdowns are not available to the public. I image where you are getting caught up is the 31" wheel spacing. This is a measurement you really do not have to concern yourself with. Instead you will want to measure the height and width of the bolt hole centers on your equalizer as well as the length of the shackle straps on center. I see you were looking at the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension...

  • Recommended Replacement Galvanized Trailer Tire/Wheel Combo for a ST205/75R14 Tire
  • Hey Wayne, I did some looking around and it does not look like we carry any Endurance tires in the size you're looking for. We do have the Goodyear Endurance ST205/75R15 Radial Tire # LH53FR which will work with a ST205/75R15 tire but it's also not galvanized. Instead, I'd recommend checking out the Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire with 14" Galvanized Wheel # AM3S450 which does have a galvanized wheel, will work as a direct replacement since it's the same size you're looking for,...

  • Is 15' Long Zodiac Inflatable Boat Compatible With CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer
  • The max boat length for the CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer # CE48870 is 14' so it will not work for your boat. Instead, you could use a trailer like the Malone MegaSport Kayak Trailer # MPG535 which has a maximum boat length of 20'. I'm not sure if the crossbars will work, that probably depends on your exact boat model. If you would rather have bunk boards you could add the Bunk Kit # MPG561

  • What to Measure to Find the Correct Replacement Hubs on a Boat Trailer
  • Oliver, to find out what replacement hubs you'll need you will need to measure your spindle where the bearings and grease seals ride, your axle capacity (which should be stamped on the axle itself) and wheel bolt pattern. Since these measurements need to be within a thousandth of an inch, you're going to need to use a caliper for the most accurate possible measurement. With this info we be able to find out what hubs your trailer uses and can point you in the right direction for a replacement...

  • what is the Total Length of the CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Trailer
  • Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out! The CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks # CE48870 measures 13' long x 54" wide overall. The 14' part is saying that this trailer is able to handle boats that are up to 14' long. When it comes to the winch tower, that can actually be adjusted along the length of the trailer tongue (see photo) so it will work with a wide variety of boats.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2012 Open Range Light 297RLS
  • Hey Ivan, Yes, this is a pretty common request for trailer owners that also want to haul their boat, golf cart, ATV, etc. so they add a trailer hitch and tow a second trailer. This is called triple towing and can be dangerous because you're adding more length and a second pivot point so there are laws and restrictions on triple towing that you'll want to research before attempting it. Usually the state and local municipalities you'll be driving through will need to be checked. I don't...

  • What Axles To Use For Braking Axles On A Triple Axle Trailer
  • Hello Rick, those are great questions, and I can definitely help. To answer your first question, usually we recommend that all shackles are the same size. That said, if you do need to intermix different sizes, you certainly can. Like you said, as long as both sides are equal, and the suspension is correctly aligned, you will be good to go. I do recommend keeping them all the same length if you can, just for sake of simplicity and cost effectiveness. If you ever need to replace components...

  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount for a Boat Trailer
  • Sounds like you need an extended ball mount. The Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232 you were looking at would definitely give you plenty of turning clearance. It measures 15-3/4" from center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole and has a 6,000 lbs capacity. Depending on your coupler size you will either need a 2" Hitch Ball item # 63845 or a 2-5/16" hitch ball item # 63847.

  • Replacement Seal for Cool Hub on a 2000 Ranger Bass Boat Trailer
  • Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out! I'm pretty sure your boat trailer has a 3,500 lbs axle which means you should need the Grease Seal # TMK58ZR which has a 1.719" ID and a 2.565" OD - you'll want to verify this on your end. I don't know what O-Ring sits behind your cap but if you can give me some dimensions I can see if we have one for you.

  • Recommended Front Mount Trailer Hitch for a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
  • Kevin, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98860 can not be installed in the front. You'd have to use a front mount trailer hitch like the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31069 which is designed to be installed in the front. This hitch has a 500 lb vertical load limit, a 9,000 lb line pull capacity, and a GTW capacity of 5,000 lbs.

  • What Seal Is Needed To Replace NAPA Seal 17144 And Can Work With Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors?
  • I do see the NAPA seal 17144 matches the dimensions of the Grease Seal # 58846. Since you are using a Bearing Buddy you are going to want to use one of their seal sets. The seal this size is typically in combination with a Inner Bearing # L68149 which will use the Seal Set # BB60002. This seal set is designed to be used in combination with a Bearing Buddy as it is capable of holding the pressure it creates.
