Option to Replace 245/75R16 Trailer Tire & Wheel With 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern For Boat Trailer

Question:

Good morning. I work at the 3rd Special Forces Group Dive Locker on Fort Bragg NC. Im trying to purchase trailer tires/wheel packages for one of our large boat trailers and I cant find it doing a search on your website. I need LT245/75R16 M+S, radial XTX on a galvanized steel wheel. 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern. Can you put a package together like this? Thank you, Mark

Hey Mark, thanks for the question and we do have an option for you, though not the exact LT245/75R16 M+S Radial XTX. Reason for that is those are light truck tires and not trailer tires (light truck tires will have an "LT" before the tire size and trailer tires have an "ST" before the size).

That said, we have a very close option in size, with a ST235/80R16 trailer tire. These are 30.8" in diameter and 9.25" wide, so they will only add about 1/8" of height at the top of the tire and are narrower by the same amount. So clearance won't be an issue at all, and what you can use is the following:

- Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWTRTM2358016E

- Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Galvanized # AM20747

You'll have a capacity of 3,050 lbs per tire/wheel (so two of them would have a 6,100 lb capacity, etc.) and the tire actually has an automotive type tread which is 11/32" deep - the deepest tread you can get on this size tire. The only other thing you would need for this is Valve Stem # AM20907.

I know this isn't the exact thing you were asking for, but I did want to give you an option for something that will work for you.
