  • How to Keep Battery of 2018 GMC Yukon Charged When Flat Towing
  • I'd recommend using the 12-v charge line from the motorhome to provide a maintenance charge to the battery of the Yukon. You can easily do this by installing a Roadmaster Charge Line Kit, part # RM-156-25. I've linked to a demonstration video for the kit. Keep in mind that you'll still need to stop every 4 hours or so and run the vehicle for a few minutes, as the charge line kit won't have the ability to fully charge the battery.

  • Parts Needed to Add Electric Brakes to a Trailer without Brakes

There are a few different parts you will need to add brakes to your trailer that has a 3500 lb. Dexter Axle. Brake mounting flange (which your axle already has), Spindle which we know because you told me you had a 3,500 lb. • Wiring Harness to Install a p2 Trailer Brake Controller on a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali
  • The P2, Prodigy 2, Tekonsha P2 or Prodigy 2 are all the same brake controller, # 90885. We usually just call it the P2. For your 2002 GMC Yukon Denali and the P2 brake controller you would need harness # 3025-P. It is possible that you have a 6-Way connector on your Yukon. A 6-Way will have round pins, like # PK12720. But you might actually have a 7-Way blade style, such as # PK11893 which has 6 outside pins and one center pin. Either set up does have a brake output circuit so the controller...

  • Components Needed to Flat-Tow a 2015 GMC Yukon XL With Adaptive Cruise
  • Flat towing a vehicle requires base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting/wiring kit and in most states a supplemental braking system to operate the dingy's brakes. Each of these items is detailed in the linked article. According to my contact at Blue Ox the correct base plate kit for your 2015 GMC Yukon XL with adaptive cruise is # BX1718. A tow bar that will work well with these plates is the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380which includes safety cables. You can use a magnetic type...

  • Towing a Boat Trailer Equipped with BrakeRite Electric-Over-Hydraulic-Actuated Disc Brakes
  • A trailer that is equipped with an electric-over-hydraulic brake actuator such as the Titan BrakeRite EHB # T4813102 shown in your photos requires that the tow vehicle have a brake controller installed. • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for 30 Foot Trailer Being Towed with GMC Yukon
  • Since your trailer weighs 5,450 pounds dry and has a tongue weight of 680 pounds then it will likely have a tongue weight of around 875 pounds if it's loaded to its 7,000 pound maximum. The best way to find your loaded trailer's tongue weight is to weight it using a tongue weight scale, # e99044, when it's packed up and ready to tow. Then to determine the correct weight distribution system you will need to add in the amount of cargo weight you have stored behind the rear axle of your...

  • Carrying Kids' Bikes While Towing a Trailer and Using a Weight Distribution System
  • I have some options for you that may work, but unfortunately part # RM-077-4, or any other hitch adapter isn't a viable solution. Specifically, the # RM-077-4 Roadmaster dual receiver is not designed to tow a trailer. I can only be used for flat towing a vehicle with all 4 wheels on the ground. When flat towing there is virtually no tongue weight from the towed vehicle. Also, a hitch adapter that extends the hitch reduces the tongue weight capacity of the hitch and therefore effects...

  • Troubleshooting The Curt Triflex Brake Controller On A 2017 GMC Yukon
  • You will first need to determine why The Curt Triflex Controller # C24VV is not working. You will need to check the correct fuse that corresponds to the brake control and its power supply. In the under hood fuse block (located near battery) fuse 36 is what you need to check. After checking if the trailer brake fuse is intact, you should then acquire a hook probe circuit tester # PTW2993. When the vehicle is on you will want to test the power wire (black) running into the controller....

  • Recommended Winch to Run Off AC Power Source
  • I have a solution for you, but the Electric Winch # 2953AT is designed to work off of DC power, so it's not something you could plug into a wall outlet to work and it would require a 12v DC power source. Instead, you can use the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch, AC Powered - 2,700 lbs # DL24872 which comes equipped with a plug that will allow you to plug it into an AC power source.

  • Which Brake Controller Harness is Correct for a 2005 GMC Yukon, 3015-P or 3015-S
  • Both the # 3015-P and the part # 3015-S will work just fine with your vehicle. The difference is that the # 3015-P will plug directly into the back of the P-3 controller, while the 3015-S would need to be spliced into the bare leads that exit the rear of the controller. The adapter would plug into the junction box under the dash, like you saw in the video. The controller must be mounted within driver reach, and according to the manufacturer recommendations.
