  • Trailer Lights have Stopped Working on a 2004 Nissan Titan with Factory Tow Package
  • This sounds like a ground problem. What you can do is start by check the trailer side and vehicle side trailer connectors. You will want to look for any dirt or corrosion in or behind the trailer connectors. Corrosion can cause any number of lighting issues. Next move on to checking the ground connections for each connector to see that they are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. You can then check the tail lights themselves. Again you are looking to see that the...

  • Only Some Trailer Lights Work with 2005 Nissan Titan with Factory Tow Package
  • We do separately offer only the relays for Nissan vehicles that come as part of the kit you referenced, part # N40975. The three relays by themselves are available as part # C57000. I have linked a video showing installation of these relays in a 2011 Titan. These install in the relay box behind the battery; the underside of the box cover should have labels for each relay socket. If these relays are missing or damaged then this kit should take care of the issue. You might also want to check...

  • Electric Trailer Brakes Slow to Release After Stepping on Brake Pedal
  • If the electric frailer brakes are not fully releasing after taking your foot off of the brake pedal, then there are a couple of things you can check. The easiest thing to check is going to be the vehicle and trailer side connectors. Make sure that the trailer connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. Corrosion can cause a short which would draw power to the brake magnets. You also need to make sure that the brake controller is behaving as it should. What you can do...

  • Equal-I-Zer Weight Distribution Not Working as Well with 2014 Nissan Titan as it Did with GMC Sierra
  • Since you now use the 2014 Nissan Titan to tow the trailer you will want to go back and set up the weight distribution again as if it were the first time. Different vehicles react differently to weight distribution and you may need to make a few adjustments and do some fine tuning so that the truck and trailer are level when towing. If you don't still have the installation instructions/manual for your system you can use the one I have linked for you. Once you have gone back and set it...

  • Trailer Wiring Stopped Working After Turning On Hazard Lights on a 2006 Nissan Titan
  • If everything was working but then stopped working as soon as you used the hazards then I think it is fuse or relay related. There could be a short issue of some kind that is not all that bad when just one blinker is working. But with both blinkers going on at the same time, the power draw increases and that could have caused a fuse or relay to fail. For relays you could use # C57000. But I would not replace anything until you have examined all of the wiring and checked for exposed wires...

  • No Running Lights After Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2013 Nissan Titan
  • On some Nissan Titans and Armadas there is an additional relay that may be required under the drivers side dash for the tail lights. You will see three relay slots to the left of the steering column and one may be missing a blue relay. I have attached a photo showing you what it will look like. You can use one of the blue relays from the Curt Relay Kit # C57000, for this relay in this slot for the running lights.

  • Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Says Not Connected to Trailer
  • Since your trailer's brakes worked on another truck that would indicate that the problem is on the truck side of the equation. First and easiest thing to check is to check for corrosion on your truck's 7-way. Some fine grit sandpaper can easily remove any corrosion that would prevent the connetion from being made. Testing the brake controller is fairly easy. Sever the blue brake output wire near the brake controller leaving enough room to reconnect it and then apply the manual slide....

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring on a 2005 Nissan Titan with Curt Relays Installed
  • On some Nissan vehicles there is an additional relay needed in the in-cab fuse panel inside the vehicle. You will need to consult the vehicle owner's manual for all of the fuse and relay locations related to trailer wiring. The extra relay can be obtained at a Nissan dealer. The first thing I would check though is for voltage on the trailer connector, this will tell you if the problem is on the trailer or vehicle side of the equation. Check out the video I attached that shows how this...

  • 2005 Nissan Titan Trailer Lights Not Working Using Tow Ready Wiring Harness
  • If your 2005 Nissan Titan came with a tow package and a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector then it may be easier to use a simple adapter, like # PK12716, to go to a 4-Way. If your truck did not come with a 7-Way at the back, then you would probably need to add some relays, # C57000, to make the wiring fully functional. The relays are required for trucks that did not come with a factory tow package.

  • Air Lift Wireless Remote Does Not Power On
  • Sometimes the little CR2032 batteries will have a sticker on them that you have to peel off so the battery actually touches the metal contacts inside the remote # AL72704. I had the exact same problem with a vehicle key fob until I noticed that sticker and peeled it off. On this remote when you take it apart to install the batteries the side that does not have the circuit board is the negative. The negative side of one of the batteries touches the contacts on that side. The other battery's...

  • Trailer Turn Signals and Brake Lights Not Working on a Trailer Towed by a 2004 Nissan Titan
  • Since the shop replaced some parts and tested the circuits, it sounds like you have a ground issue on the trailer side. First, make sure that the vehicle side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of any corrosion. Corrosion can build up on the pins but also in the backs of the connectors where the wires attach. Next, make sure that the main ground from the trailer connector is attached to a clean metal surface. Then do the same for the trailer lights. If you recently added a...

  • Stop and Turn Signals Work But Tail Lights Do Not Work on Trailer
  • The first thing I would check is the trailer wiring running light fuse located in the power distribution box under the hood. Once the fuse box is located check the legend on the lid to determine the correct fuse to check. Blown running light fuses are a common problem with the Nissan Titan trucks. If the running light fuse is not blown or missing, you should also check fuses in the cab of the truck. Again use the legend on the cover, you will have a fuse box on the passengers side and...

  • Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Not Connecting to Trailer
  • This sounds like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 output wire is not making the connection to the trailer on your 2017 Nissan Titan. I would check that the ends of the Pigtail # 3050-P on your brake controller have not pushed out of their connections. You can do this visually but the best way is to follow the wire with a Test Light # PTW2992. When you apply your brakes the blue wire in the pigtail should receive power. You can use the test light to follow the wire...

  • Troubleshooting Braking Delay When Using The Tekonsha Prodigy P3
  • That is certainly odd. There should be no time delay when using a proportional controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. The first thing I recommend doing is taking a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 and testing the red wire behind the brake controller. It should be getting power immediately when the brakes are applied. Also check your gain setting. Try turning the gain all the way up and seeing if you still detect a delay. Also check that your manual override is working correctly....

  • Troubleshooting Brake Light/Left Turn Signal on a Trailer Towed by a 2005 Nissan Titan
  • The first thing I would test is the trailer connector on your 2005 Nissan Titan using a circuit tester like our part # 3808 to see if the problem lies in the trailer or in your vehicle. Check out the video I attached to see exactly how to do this. Basically, you will be testing for brake/stop light functionality of the circuit and this will tell you if the problem is on the truck or the trailer. If its on the truck I would check the fuses and relays of the tow package and replace as necessary. If...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for 2005 Nissan Titan and Brake Controller
  • On your 2005 Nissan Titan if you have the factory 7-way, you should have been able to simply install the Factory Style 7-Way and 4-Way Flat Vehicle End Trailer Connector # N40975 and then add the brake controller wiring harness # 3050-P and brake controller like # 90195. I've attached some videos to assist. If you didn't have the factory 7-way, then you need a powered converter like # C59496 to give you a 4-way and then the # ETBC7 Kit to help finish your hardwiring. I don't believe...

  • No Trailer Connector Message on Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller
  • If the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 is showing the no trailer connected text/icon with the trailer connected then there is an issue with the brake output wire. The color of the screen doesn't matter. In order to fix this you will need to trace the usually blue brake output wire from the brake controller all the way back to the braking assemblies. The most common issue is at the trailer connectors so make sure the pins inside them are clean and the wires leading...

  • Trailer Lights Won't Work When Connected to 2011 Nissan Titan
  • There are a couple of things you can look at here, but if you've blown any of the towing fuses on your 2011 Nissan Titan, it's likely that the overload was caused by some wiring issues that can develop over time. If this is a new installation that isn't operating, your Titan may not be equipped with the towing relays that are required-but they can be purchased with # C57000 . If this is an older install where the lights have stopped working, I would first go ahead and check those fuses...
