There is only 1 trunk mount bike rack that will fit both a 2002 Audi TT convertible and a 2000 to 2014 BMW X5. It is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack, # HRF2 or # HRF2-3 (for 3 bikes).
The Over-the-Top rack is unique in that it has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up so they are not putting any stress on spoilers or other components on a vehicle that are not designed to support weight. I have linked a video showing how it works.

The Curt hitch mounted spare carrier part # C31006 that you referenced weighs 18 lbs. Since this is a hitch mounted accessory Curt requires a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 to brace the carrier while travelling down the road with their hitches. You should note that when you use a hitch adapter you cut the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. We have a hitch for the Quattro models of the 2004 Audi TT. For that you'd want the part # C11765. This has a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs which should easily tow a small trailer with your bike you mentioned but you need to verify that your vehicle has the needed towing capacity in the owners manual.
For trailer wiring you'd then want the pat # 119250KIT.
For a ball mount you'd then want the part # C45510, and hitch ball part # C40001 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.

There are no trailer hitch options for the 2013 TT. But if you need a hitch for a bike rack or cargo then there are other options. For bikes you could use a trunk mount rack like the Malone Runway Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Adjustable Arms # MAL84RR.
