I have a great option for you. The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 is going to be as easy of an install as you will get for a brake controller for your 2022 Honda Passport. The reason this will be an easier install is because it is a wireless brake controller, so you will not need to run a wire into the cab of your Passport for the controller.

The larger rectangular connector contains the trailer lighting circuits and the smaller square connector contains the reverse sensor wire. If you don't have reverse sensors then you won't have to plug this into anything.

It sounds like you're having trouble fitting the ground wire in the back of the 7-way connector on your T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118291. This is larger than the other wires so you need to make sure you are inserting the wire in the correct spot. See the diagram below. The best way to unpin the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118291 is to first disconnect the power and then use a small flathead screwdriver to push the pins from one side while slightly pulling on the wire from the opposite side. You'll need to push and lift the pins to release them from where they are seated.
