There's nothing to worry about in this case and you can use the Curt Echo with your 2020 Honda Passport. The reason for the confusion is that brake controllers are not fit guided on our site to particular trailers, since they'll work with any trailer including your Satellite Comet Mini. The reason that your 2020 Honda Passport does not have a signal on the brake signal pin is that all wired brake controllers for this vehicle would need to have it wired by the dealer, but you would still be able to use a wireless brake controller without this connected.
Using the Curt Echo # C51180 does not require a connection with the brake wire and you typically would use a 7 way connector like the # ETBC7L which also would not receive a signal on the brake pin of your 7 way connector. The Curt Echo # C51180 senses the braking from your vehicle and provides proportional braking for your trailer, and because it doesn't require a signal from the stop light switch inside the vehicle, it's a great solution for your 2020 Honda Passport.
