Most likely there was a short at some point and the # 118175KIT was damaged and now it is behaving in the strange way that you described.
Before you replace it with a # 119178KIT I would recommend that you go over all of the connections to make sure that the problem is not just wires shorting out somewhere.
If the wiring looks good I would recommend you purchase a Trailer Wiring Kit # 119178KIT and replace the unit that is currently in your vehicle.

It sounds like the wire that was cut serves more than one function or was not the wire for a power mirror. It is also possible that there was some sort of short and that could have blown the fuse for the power window motor. Reconnect the wire if you can and use the vehicle owners manual to determine the location of the fuse for the power window motor on the affected windows. view full answer...
