If I had to choose between the two, I'd personally go with the EcoHitch because it uses the more common 2 inch receiver opening and is compatible with many more hitch mounted accessories than the Curt # C11416 that uses a 1-1/4 inch receiver. Yes, for your 2016 Honda HR-V you can use the Curt trailer hitch # C11416. Ball mount # 3593 is the correct ball mount if you intend to do any light duty towing. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258.
