I can verify for you that the etrailer trailer hitch receiver for your 2017 Subaru Forester does fit the Forester 2.5I, 2.5I Limited, and 2.5I Premium; the hitch actually fits all models of '17 Forester with the correct part number being the following:
- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98839
This will give your 2017 Forester a hitch with a 2 inch receiver with a matte black finish that not only looks great but hides any scratches or dings from road debris much better than a hitch with... view full answer...

The trailer hitch that I recommend for your 2021 Subaru Forester is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C47HR. I recommend the # C47HR because it has a hidden cross tube, meaning all you see is the receiver itself to give you a clean, factory look.
This trailer hitch receiver has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 350lbs and a maximum trailer capacity of 3,500lbs. You will always want to consult your owner's manual for the maximum weight ratings for your 2021... view full answer...
The difference between the two hitches are the vehicles they fit, as one is designed for certain model year Subaru Foresters and the other a fit for certain model year Hyundai Santa Fe Sports and Kia Sorentos:

- 2014 - 2015 Kia Sorento & 2013 - 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport: etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98841 view full answer...
It appears that your Forester has a 4-cylinder, 2.5L, engine. The Kat's # 11405 is the correct heater for this engine and the install location is on the (FL) front left. I reached out to my contact at the manufacturer and they confirmed the general location and based on some limited knowledge of the Subaru, they agreed that having to move the exhaust could be correct. I have included a graphic that also shows the general install location. view full answer...
The Fulton fender # F008551 is designed for use with 8 to 12 inch trailer tires. For the specific measurements of this fender, please take a look at the picture I have provided and compare them to the available space you have on the trailer to determine if there will be any fit issues with a 5.30-12 trailer tire.
The diameter of a 5.30-12 trailer tire is 21.9 inches and, of course, it is 5.30 inches wide. A lot depends on the specific trailer design and how it is constructed. Based on... view full answer...
According to Thule, their OutWay Trunk-Mounted 2 bike rack, part # TH45JV is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Subaru Forester.
To carry women's bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # 64005 is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
I have linked... view full answer...
Both the Swagman XC-2 and XTC-2 hitch-mount platform-style 2-bike carriers, parts # S64650 and # S64670, will fit either 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitch receivers. Either one will work on your 2014 Subaru Forester.
The main differences between the two carriers are the amount of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the nearest wheel hoop, and the size of the bike wheelbase they can carry. The specific type of bikes you have and their dimensions may help determine which... view full answer...
We do have a roof rack that will fit the raised side rails of your 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness and allow the sunroof to open without any interference whatsoever; the rack is from Rhino-Rack and made up of the following parts:
- Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2
- Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs # RRSX100
When we test fit this rack on a Forester we found there was about 3 inches of space from the roof to the bottom of the crossbars, which is more than enough for you to open... view full answer...
The Thule Aero Bars # TH711220 have a t-slot opening of 1/2 inches and the bottom width is 3/4 inches. An opening of 10.5~11.5mm, an inside width of 21~22mm and a height of 5mm. If your Thule bars will fit those measurements, you can use them together. view full answer...
You will need at least 3.5 inches of bar to be hanging over your feet to use the Yakima ShowDown # Y04081. The 50" Malone Air Flow 2 # MPG215 may not be enough room. The 58" AirFlow 2 should work # MPG216. We also have a 65" version # MPG217 if you wanted to be safe. view full answer...
You will have no problem using the Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack, # TH934XTR, on your 2008 Subaru Forester. In fact, this is one of our most popular bike racks among our Subaru Forester customers. This bike rack measures 13-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the upright mast leaving you with a comfortable distance of 6-1/2 inches between the bike rack and your bumper/rear hatch. I've attached a demonstration video we made on a Forester for you to check out.

That's ironic because currently (March 2022) Thule doesn't have a fit listed for the 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness.
With that being said, from our research it looks like the Wilderness models on the newer Subaru vehicles won't affect the fitment of roof racks so you'll just need a roof rack that installs on raised rails. My favorite option is the Thule Evo system just because it looks great and is super simple to install:
50" WingBar Evo Crossbars - # TH711320
Evo Raised Rail feet -... view full answer...
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7391 is a more premium hitch than the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch item # 76271. While both are confirmed to fit the 2020 Subaru Forester they have completely different installation methods which is what you're paying for.
The crossbar of the EcoHitch is completely hidden by the bumper cover. This results in the only visible portion of the hitch being the 2" x 2" receiver. When the Draw-Tite hitch is installed you can see the crossbar... view full answer...
Yes, both the LoadWarrior with extension # Y07070-74 and the MegaWarrior with extension # Y07080-82 will fit the factory roof rack crossbars on a 2017 Subaru Forester. But one thing to consider is the weight of the carriers. The LoadWarrior weighs 32 pounds and the MegaWarrior weighs 52 pounds. So if your roof rack is rated for 150 pounds (according to Yakima) then you will be limited to 118 pounds of cargo with the LoadWarrior or 98 pounds with the MegaWarrior. view full answer...
The Draw Tite hitch part # 75876 that you have installed on your 2014 Subaru Forester has a only a few inches from the hitch pin hole to the outer most portion of the rear bumper. Because of that the RockyMounts HighNoon # RKY87RR will easily fit since it has 6 inches from it's hitch pin hole to the nearest portion of the rack when folded up and 16-3/4" to the nearest portion of the rack when in use. view full answer...
