The wedge is required to prevent a pivot point at the 5th wheel hitch jaws. The function of a Sidewinder is to move that pivot point back further on the truck which requires blocking the pivot point at the hitch. The trailer should not be towed without the wedge in place unless the lock out bolts are installed to lock out the pivot point at the Sidewinder.

As the harness only connects with 2 connectors you will want to simply remove the harness to confirm the issue is only caused by the harness. Typically, you can just pull the relays out. From my research I read that they can be in difficult to reach areas.

The first thing you will want to do is test the 4-way of the # 118492 that you installed with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. See the video I attached to see how this is done. This will tell you if the problem is on the vehicle side or trailer side of the wiring.
