The Curt trailer hitch # C11202 has a gross trailer weight capacity of 2,000 pounds and 200 pound tongue weight capacity. For a trailer that weighs 400 pounds total the tongue weight would only be 40 to 60 pounds so you are well within the capacities of the hitch. Check the vehicle owner's manual for the vehicle capacity (if listed) and go by whichever is lower; the hitch or the vehicle.

You will only need to enlarge holes in the frame to install the hitch, not drill new ones.

Since you are planning on doing some towing the correct ball mount is # C45520. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 118492.

If you use a bike rack or trailer hitch with the Curt hitch, you will need a stabilizer strap like the part # 18050.
