I called Curt to confirm if this is expected. They assured me that this is normal. It lights up when the vehicle is started to indicate the Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller, part # C51170, is on and looking for a connection. Once it's found that there is no connection, it will stop lighting up until a connection is made.

We actually have a much easier solution for your 2006 Chevy Colorado to convert it from a 4-way to a 7-way with the adapter part # 37185 for if you don't have trailer brakes you need to activate or part # ETBC7 for if you do have trailer brakes. Both of these kits come with an easy to install and use adapter that your 4-way plugs into to convert it to a 7-way.

I called my contact at pop & Lock about your 2011 Chevrolet Colorado Extended Cab truck.
They told me that the wires you are looking for are located to the left of the brake pedal on the drivers side of the cab. You would need the tan and gray wire for the door locks for the installation. They also told me you may need to pull the sill plate if you cannot locate the wires behind the kick panel.

It would not be required that you mount a Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D12906, in any particular direction, the line pressure from the transmission will push the fluid through the cooler regardless of if its mounted horizontally, vertically or any direction in between.
I would recommend you choose a location based on receiving maximizing airflow through the cooler, regardless of what direction it points.

To install a brake controller in a 2016 Chevy Colorado you will have to wire the controller to the 4 wires under the dash of the truck like in the video you mentioned (that is also linked.) There won't be an adapter available for this vehicle that allows one to plug right in as Chevy designed your vehicle to have the controller install like this. Instead of putting a port for the brake controller they just gave the 4 blunt cut wires.

No, you will not need a separate fuse to install the P3 brake controller # 90195 on your 2016 Chevy Colorado with the factory tow package. The tow package wiring up under the dash that you will connect the brake controller to is already fused under the hood (you can check to make sure the fuse is in place).

I looked up the 2010 Chevrolet Colorado and the two switches on your brake pedal is for the brake light and the other switch is for the traction control/cruise control. You will need to use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, and test the wires. I would start by looking for a light blue wire and test that wire for power only when the brakes are applied.

Breaking in new brakes with the Liberty # RED24FR is basically the same thing you just described. The only difference from what Lippert told you is that there is no slide mechanism for the manual override. Instead, you will push in on the knob to engage the brakes as you described.

So long as where you are mounting it allows the bracket to be secured on your front skid plate, it would be okay to do so on your 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2. You will just want to ensure the wiring bracket isn't loose and can be properly positioned, but I don't see why you couldn't do this when installing tow bar wiring.
