The controller calls for a resetable fuse. My Z71 has the trailer towing option. 7 pin connector. Do you know if i need to buy a separate fuze.

No, you will not need a separate fuse to install the P3 brake controller # 90195 on your 2016 Chevy Colorado with the factory tow package. The tow package wiring up under the dash that you will connect the brake controller to is already fused under the hood (you can check to make sure the fuse is in place).

Installation on your truck will be similar to the video I have linked. The tow package wiring should be held together with a white tag that lists the functions of the wires.

On the brake controller, white is ground, black is 12 volt power in, blue is output to the trailer brakes, and red is input from the brake switch.
