While we have not had a 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV in our shop with the hands free liftgate to test the exact function I can say most applications will not eliminate the use of the kick sensor. I installed our receiver on my Acura RDX which takes up a lot more of the space under the bumper with its visible cross tube and I can still use the kick sensor on mine to operate the hands free liftgate. You will likely find that you need to perform the kick motion on either side of the receiver tube... view full answer...
There is no cutting required to install the Curt Hitch item # C25FV on your 2024 Mazda CX-90. There is a small panel beneath your bumper cover that you will remove and not reinstall that will give you clearance for the 2" receiver. If you wanted to reinstall the panel you would then need to make some cuts in it so it would fit around the downtube of the hitch but this is not required.
I have linked the installation instructions below so you can see what I am talking about. It's covered... view full answer...
If the bars are bent it's definitely time to replace them. Since most of the time your tongue weight is under 600 lbs you'd want to stick with the # FA92-01-0699 for replacements. If you were to go higher the ride quality would be harsher like you mentioned. view full answer...
What you're looking for is the Curt # C24ZV. This wiring harness plugs into the OEM vehicle socket in the rear cargo area. Once installed, you will have a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights. In addition to the hitch # C25FV and wiring you will also need a ball mount if you're planning on towing. Check out the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45534. The kit comes with a 2" ball, locking hitch pin, hitch cover, and a storage case. view full answer...
The best hitch for a 2024 Mazda CX-90 is going to be the Curt item # C25FV. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Mazda with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity and a 500 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I really like the Curt hitch item # C25FV because the crosstube mounts behind your rear bumper leaving only the 2" receiver exposed. This not only looks better but helps with ground clearance.
I have attached a couple of pictures... view full answer...
Since the Curt 4-way kit part # C24ZV plugs into the factory trailer wiring port it would put the vehicle into trailer mode when towing a trailer like you are wanting it to. view full answer...
That is a great question. Then answer is that there is no difference. Both will come with the exact same bracket and hardware. I will try to explain.
The # PK12711U-26 is actually an older part number. Back in the day, Pollak used to send us these brackets without hardware, and we had to add a hardware pack here at our warehouse. So part # PK12711U-26 actually contains the # PK12711U bracket and the PK11-926 hardware pack.
About a year ago Pollak changed their mind and started shipping... view full answer...
While I cannot see all the access points or grommets on the back of your 2024 Mazda CX-90 you should be able to find one the 4-way # C24ZV would be able to leave the inside of the cab. You may end up needing an Extension # HM48235. If you are having trouble locating an opening be sure to check the tail light wiring above the connector. This would require you to likely have to remove additional components to get the wiring out around the tail lights and down through the rear fascia. view full answer...

The hitch and wiring combo you'll need to go with for your 2024 Mazda CX-90 comes from Curt and includes the following parts:
- Trailer Hitch # C25FV
- Wiring Harness # C59236
The trailer hitch doesn't require drilling, but you may need to enlarge some of the access holes in your frame to get the hardware installed, and then the wiring splices into your OEM wiring.
If the plan is to eventually tow with this vehicle then you'll also need a ball mount setup. Attached is a helpful article... view full answer...
I just checked directly with Yakima for you and can confirm that yes, the factory crossbars will allow you to use the SkyBox cargo box you asked about, which is the following part number:
- Yakima SkyBox NX 18 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y45AV
You made a really nice choice with the NX 18 # Y45AV as it is super easy to use by simply clamping onto your roof rack, comes with locks to keep it safe on your roof, and opens from both sides for easy access to your cargo. view full answer...
