- The correct ball mount for your 2009 Audi A6 really depends on the hitch that's installed and the height of your trailer coupler when the trailer is leveled out.
For example, when we installed the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver 24836 on a 2008 Audi A6 we found the receiver height (ground to inside top of receiver) was 10". So if the bottom of your trailer coupler is 11" then you need the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45147 which has a 3/4" rise and comes with a 2" hitch ball.

- I checked out the owner's manual for your 2013 Audi A6 and it does mention chains not be thicker than 0.4 inches though it also mentions only using chains on "certain tire sizes" so I recommend making a quick call to your local Audi dealer just to ensure your 255/35/20 tires will be able to use chains.
