The more secure coupler locks we offer are designed for be used when the trailer isn't hitched to the vehicle. They're designed to prevent the coupler from being hitched to a trailer ball, like # FA86-0015-305.
With the trailer attached to the ball, you'd want to use something that would prevent the latch mechanism of the coupler from being opened, as well as securing the ball mount into the hitch receiver using something like the # BD580402 hitch lock you'd looked at.

The Falcon 2 features a self-aligning design that would make hooking up your ForTwo easy without the need to have the car perfectly lined up behind the motorhome. I can see how the size of the Blue Ox Aladdin tow bar could be a concern, but the tow bar only weighs 37 lbs and remains stored on the hitch of your RV when you are not towing. Another great feature about this tow bar is that it is non-binding, which allows for easier hookup and disconnecting.

I have some alternative ideas for you. Unfortunately the Smart FourTwo muffler runs right behind the rear bumper so no one is going to be able to design a hitch that works around that. If you only wish to carry a few bikes then you could use the SeaSucker # 298-SX6000B roof cross bars with the Yakima # Y02114 Wheel mount bike racks. If you wanted to carry extra cargo you can use the Trunx # TRX44FR roof top cargo box with the same SeaSucker cross bars.

The only trailer hitch available for the 2009 Smart fortwo is Curt hitch # C11020. Since this vehicle should not be used for towing I assume you are using it for a bike rack or cargo carrier. Any accessories that you use will need to be compatible with a Class I trailer hitch.

We have everything you need to flat tow your 2016 Smart fortwo, but to install the base plate kit you will need do some minor fascia trimming and some minor drilling which could be an issue for your lease agreement.
