Permanent Install Supplemental Braking System Recommendation for 2008 Smart Fortwo

Question:

A few years ago I asked etrailer if invisabrake would work on 2008 Smart Fortwo Passion You all said no because car didnt have vacuum assist brakes. Website now says invisabrake will work. Can you clear this up? Id really like to buy invisabrake system if it will work on my Smart. Thanks.

I see that Jeff L told you a few years back that the Invisi-Brake part # RM-8700 would not fit your vehicle due to it's braking style. Since then the fit info has changed for this braking system and it is listed as a fit for your 2008 Smart fortwo.

That being said, for the permanent install style of supplemental braking I would recommend the SMI DUO part # SM99251 instead as our installers here are a huge fan of it. They like it because of how easy it is to install and how and how well it performs compared to the Invisi-Brake.
